Your Acumatica lead times were set once, and your suppliers quietly stopped honoring them.
Nobody notices. The item record still says four weeks, but the receipt history says eight.
So every buy against that vendor goes out a month late. The buyer catches the shortage, expedites, eats the freight premium, then gets asked in the Monday meeting why coverage slipped again...
The obvious fix is to audit the lead times and update them, but that fails for a reason that has nothing to do with effort.
It's a moving target. Supplier performance drifts by SKU and by season, so a number you correct in March is wrong again by June. Set and forget, with fresher bad data.
Try treating lead time as something you measure instead of something you set. The signal is already sitting in Acumatica: every PO, every receipt date, every promise a vendor missed. Almost nobody reads it.
In last week's session, Vlad Bekker showed what happens when an AI agent does. ConverSight's Supply Planner flagged a single supplier with 95 of its 117 SKUs sitting at critical stockout risk, and sized the buy quantities against observed lead time rather than the number in the item master.
It also showed its work. Current coverage, demand over the period, lead time exposure, and why it landed on that quantity. Buyers spot check that for a month or two. Then they stop.
The full recording is on demand, so you didn't miss it.
