TRPA approves new Verizon Cell Tower for Southwest Incline Village, NV. This region of Incline Village typically has No Service, due to overloading of the small amount of bandwidth available. Both Spectrum technicians and during Peak Summer Months, or holidays in December cannot get a cell signal without going outside, and even then making a call can be difficult in this region of Incline Village. Most Spectrum Technicians require data to activate equipment, and lately they must call another technician with Cell Coverage to enable or activate Modems for Internet or Phones & TV.
Since the East Shore Bike Path has opened, visitors all carry cell phones, and many residents on Verizon have seen "NO SERVICE" in this region. This has been a public safety issue for a long time for both AT&T & Verizon, requiring the use of Wi-Fi Calling.
