That's a Wrap Wednesday 🍦

Ever wonder how a plain truck turns into... that? Press play.

Ice Cream on Wheels started as a proof and a page of client notes. A few design rounds later, it rolled out of our bay as a fully wrapped, rolling dessert — concept to curb. (The real version took a bit longer than the video. There was squeegeeing.)

We designed, printed, and installed the whole thing right here in Huntsville, and now it's headed back out to make every kid in the neighborhood come running at block parties and church events all summer. Got something coming up? Go book them.

Ever wonder why a logo looks perfect on your phone but turns fuzzy when you blow it up on a 4-foot banner? Or why that bright Instagram green prints duller than it looked on screen?

Print files have rules, and most of them aren't obvious until someone explains them. So we wrote it all down — color modes, resolution, bleed, fonts, and what to do if none of that is figured out yet.

We run large-format printers, plotters, and cutters every single day. That means perfectly good material — foam board, vinyl, corrugated plastic, canvas, magnets — gets left on the cutting room floor. We call it "drop."

In 1970, Jim Burruss opened a one-man copy shop called Office Products Co. on Pratt Avenue in Huntsville.

He ran 3M copier demonstrations out of people's offices. He answered the phone himself. And he figured out what his customers needed before they finished asking.

By 1974, the business had a new name — Allied — and a new home on Traylor Island, a small commercial enclave off North Memorial Parkway surrounded by Pinhook Creek. If you're a Huntsville native of a certain age, you remember that bridge.

What you might not know is that I-565 took it.

We just published the full story — 56 years of Allied growing up alongside this city. Traylor Island. University Drive. A fire in 2017 that would have ended most businesses. And the same family still running the shop today.

It's a Huntsville story. We hope you'll read it.
