This morning, we were informed by a customer that they received a phone call appearing to come from Huntsville Computer World, LLC at approximately 9:00 a.m. from the number 256-213-9696.
After conducting several checks, we confirmed that this was a spoofed call placed by a scammer and not an authorized call from our business.
Please be advised: if you receive a call from 256-213-9696 and you do not currently have a computer repair or service scheduled with us, do not engage with the caller and hang up immediately.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could contact us directly to report any such calls, as this helps us monitor and address the situation promptly.

What is SPOOF CALL?
Call spoofing is when a caller intentionally disguises their phone number or caller ID to hide their true identity, making it seem like the call is coming from a different, often more legitimate-looking number (like a local area code or a known company) to trick you into answering and falling for scams, such as requests for personal info or money. Scammers use this technique to appear trustworthy, often spoofing numbers from banks, government agencies, or even your own area code (neighbor spoofing) to increase the chances you'll pick up the phone.
