It’s a significant week for the Defense Department’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program: New rules that serve as a precursor to the full CMMC implementation took effect on Tuesday, and an announcement of the first 15 contracts that will serve as “pathfinders” for the new model are imminent.

The first pathfinders are expected to be announced in ‘the next few days,’ just after rules that pave the way for CMMC took effect.

Huntsville City Schools cancelled classes for the rest of the week after a ransomware threat.
Officials were alerted to a problem when the school system's help desk was suddenly overwhelmed with support tickets.
If you or your child have a HCS issued device- please keep them turned off until further notice.

Anyone with a district-issued device should shut it off until further notice.
