DoD just hit pause on CMMC Level 2 — and a lot of contractors are reading it wrong.

On July 13, the third-party assessment requirement set for November was suspended. But here's what didn't change: NIST SP 800-171, DFARS 7012, and your obligation to protect CUI are all still in force.
