The best way to build for this industry is to keep showing up for it.

Last week, our team headed to Omaha for the SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop to connect with the industry and show what we’ve been building.

Ribbiot has evolved a lot over the last few months, and much of that growth has come directly from listening to the people who use it every day. Those conversations run year round. The Workshop is where we get to continue them face to face, share what’s new, and hear what to build next.

We also got to spend an evening with our friends at Patriot Nation for their after-hours event. Patriot has been a fantastic partner to Ribbiot, and we’re always grateful for time with their team outside of the day-to-day.

A huge thank you to Patriot for having us and putting on such a great event, and to everyone who stopped by to see us at the Workshop.

Another great week with the people who keep pushing this industry forward.

"Whose fault is this?"

You walked it the night before. Rigging staged. Certs valid. Fuel topped. Crew confirmed. Permits in the truck. The stamped lift plan, sitting under a stack of paperwork in dispatch.

So who wears it?
Engineering, who finished the plan last Thursday?
Dispatch, where it sat on a desk since last Friday?
Sales, who never flagged it?
You, for not asking one more time?

Honest answer: next week it happens again with a different paper and you'll blame a different name. That's the tell when readiness is a game of telephone played across a dozen apps, paper, and tribal knowledge. The best people still can't win that game every time. The tools that forced seven places to look to show readiness failed you.

Centralize it. One record for the people, the equipment, and the job. Readiness shows in proof instead of hope. That's what Ribbiot is for.

What does your night-before walk run on?

Today we honor the people who keep our world moving forward.

The crews and operators in the field. The planners, dispatchers, and mechanics behind every job. The work is heavy, the days start early, and the results are everywhere you look.

At Ribbiot, we're proud to support the people who build, lift, transport, and power our communities.

Happy Labor Day. This day is for you.

Tired of the same demos every year?

So were we.

We spent the year building against the weeks that make this business hard. If you haven't seen us since last year, we're different now. The proof runs live at Booth 4, and every change we show comes with the real story that forced it.

You can learn a lot from behind a screen. You can learn a whole lot more from the jobsite.

Our team recently spent time onsite with Patriot Crane & Rigging LLC, seeing their operation firsthand and continuing to learn from the people using Ribbiot every day.

That’s what partnership looks like to us. Implementation is only the beginning. We stay involved, keep listening, and keep learning so we can build a better product for the people actually doing the work.

Built for the field means showing up in the field.

You are not the bank.
When the work is done and the invoice is still sitting, you are acting like one. A free one.

The crew did the hard part. Then the office spends days rebuilding what already happened: tickets in trucks, hours on paper, photos on phones. Every one of those days is free financing for your customer.

That gap has a name: the fog of operations. Removing it is why Ribbiot exists.

You did the work. Get the invoice out.

Honest number: how many days from job complete to invoice sent?

Every company works. Some tools don’t.
Where to start?

That gap is what this panel is about. At the SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop in Omaha, our founder Joe Frigo joins Michael Cox of WrightPlan and Shara Perez-Wilkinson of Fleet Cost & Care on stage:

Tech Made Simple. One hour built for crane and rigging operations. Don’t miss it!

Thursday, September 24, 10:15 AM CT

On the table:
* The everyday tools already earning their keep in operations like yours
* How to get started without blowing up what already works
* Plain talk on what the right tools save in time, mistakes, and money
*
Here is where you come in. If you could put one question in front of this panel, what would it be?

Five questions before you sign.

Most operations software gets bought in a conference room and dies in the field. Two years later the crews are back on paper and somebody’s name is stapled to the decision.

Only 28% of construction companies ask the field before buying the tools the field has to use (FMI, Construction Disconnected). The other 72% find out at rollout.

For the record: we’re Ribbiot. We build operations software for companies that run people, process, and equipment, and we’d rather lose a deal on these five questions than win one that skipped them. Ask us all five.

What’s the question you learned the hard way?

Construction needs to attract 349,000 new workers in 2026.

That's the Associated Builders and Contractors forecast, and the majority of that demand traces to retirements rather than growth. The experience is walking out the gate.

Recruiting matters. Fund the programs, show up at the schools. SC&RF themed its whole 40th year around workforce for a reason.

But be honest about what happens when a good candidate walks through the shop. If the plan to win them runs on paper tickets, a whiteboard, and technology that existed when their parents were dating, do you think you're going to have an easier time?

And the pile of apps most shops bought to replace the paper made its own friction. One for timecards, one for forms, one for dispatch, none of it designed for how your company runs. Four days of training on every new tool before a hire ever touches the work they signed up for. Then we act surprised when they leave.

Here's what the number means operationally. When people are scarce, every crew hour you have is worth more, and readiness and clean handoffs decide how many of those hours become finished work. A crew that rolls with current certs, the lift plan, and a work order that matches the job produces like a bigger crew.

The companies winning the labor fight treat the tools their people carry the way they treat their iron: maintained, fit for the work, chosen for the person in the seat. A good operator reads that from across the yard.

That friction is removable. It's why Ribbiot exists: forms, work orders, employee and equipment certifications, and job documents shaped to how each company runs, per company, even per location, so a new hire learns one tool built for them and gets on with the trade.

The market decides how many people you can hire this year. You decide what it feels like to work for you.

Honest count: how many apps does a new hire at your company have to learn in week one?

The board says go. The crew is ready. The customer is watching. Then the job stops.

The right equipment isn’t there.

The document isn’t in the truck.

Two jobs claimed the same resource.

Now three or four people are standing at loaded rates while dispatch works the phones and the customer watches the clock.

One stoppage here. Another next quarter. Eventually, it becomes “just part of the business.”

But has anyone actually priced it?

Last time a crew stood down waiting, how long was it? How many guys were standing there?

Ribbiot keeps dispatch, crews, equipment, and job information connected so the plan doesn’t fall apart in the field.

Keep crews working. Not waiting with Ribbiot.
