Issue 1 of The AI Teacher Lounge Newsletter is live.

There are a lot of AI newsletters out there. Most are built for tech people, tool chasers, or folks trying to sell you the next “this changes everything” moment.

This one is built specifically for educators, by an educator.

No hype. No panic. No random tool lists. No “make thousands of dollars a week with AI” nonsense.

Just a weekly newsletter with practical AI news and ideas that teachers, trainers, instructional designers, and school leaders can actually use professionally, personally, and in the classroom.

There is a lot of noise around AI right now. The goal of The AI Teacher Lounge is to help educators sort through it without needing a second cup of coffee and a decoder ring.

Grab your coffee. Issue 1 is here: https://app.smore.com/n/a6j37

I’ll be speaking every 30 minutes about how students can break into the IT field, why certifications matter, and how those first steps can turn into real career opportunities. If you or your child is interested in a career in IT, put this on your calendar. This is going to be huge.

Big news! StackFord is excited to partner with Tech Fest Live in-person Experience for STEM Go Pro Day on July 30, 2026, at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.

This event is expected to bring together 500+ middle and high school students from across the Greater Houston area for hands-on STEM activities, workshops, career panels, and real-world exposure to pathways in technology, sports, and innovation.

This is exactly the kind of work that is my calling in life. Students need chances to see what is possible, meet people doing the work, ask questions, and connect what they are learning in school to real careers.

I’m looking forward to talking with students about technology, certifications, and how those first steps can turn into real opportunities.

I was honored to help with mock job interviews for middle school students today at Atascocita Middle School.

I enjoyed participating and sharing my experiences both as someone who has been through plenty of job interviews and as someone who has conducted them.

Have a wonderful summer vacation!

We are live for a CompTIA Tech+ review session focused on Operating Systems.

In this session, we are reviewing key operating system concepts, comparing common operating systems, looking at file management and command-line basics, discussing software compatibility, and connecting these topics back to the CompTIA Tech+ exam objectives.

This livestream is especially for my Latinas in Tech Houston CompTIA Tech+ students and my WeTeach_CS Technology Applications certification students, but anyone who wants to build a stronger foundation in technology is welcome to join in.

During the stream, we will also use Kahoot review games to make the session more interactive.

Topics include:
Operating system basics
Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, and iOS
32-bit vs. 64-bit systems
File systems and file management
Command-line basics
Software installation and compatibility
Troubleshooting and support concepts

I got to try out the Meta Ray-Ban Displays.

They are so dang cool. They have a heads-up display, and you can control them with a wristband and hand gestures.

The future is getting weird, and the geek in me is loving it.

Career Day at Atascocita Middle School today.

Always a good day when I get to talk with students about careers, technology, certifications, and all the different paths available to them.

We also talked about AI and why it matters. Not as a shortcut or replacement for learning. But as a tool that can help you do more with the skills you are already building.
