FHRP — First Hop Redundancy Protocols Explained!
What happens if your network’s default gateway router suddenly fails? Without redundancy, users can lose connectivity even when the rest of the network is working.
That’s where FHRP (First Hop Redundancy Protocols) comes in. FHRPs allow multiple routers to provide a virtual default gateway, so another router can take over when the active gateway becomes unavailable.
