The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) was recently asked to review Federal Aviation Administration’s efforts to integrate drones into the national airspace system. ✈

This report examines, among other issues, the extent to which:

(1) FAA’s approach to managing its drone integration efforts is consistent with key elements for a comprehensive strategy, and

(2) FAA has clearly communicated its requirements and process for reviewing and approving operational requests.

Energy drones and robotics certainly have the "moves"!

It's exciting the see how quickly the industry is evolving to help detect and prevent methane leaks, inspect deepwater marine assets, respond to the site of fire and police emergencies, and much more. Of course, no company knows better than Soaring Eagle Technologies about how utilities are levering drones for inspections and post-storm assessments.

The functionalities are endless. The most exciting part is to see how the data is being applied within organizations to make it actionable. This aspect is evolving quickly to help predict and prevent incidents and finetune maintenance plans. This is where the savings come into play.
