Being stretched is part of the process.
Was recently considered for an amazing opportunity that I quickly accepted. I am so thankful to have been thought about and entrusted to do the awards for the 100 Black Men Legacy in Bloom Gala. Big shout out to RJ Jenkins for looking out!!!!
This was so special for me because Bestowed Petals, LLC is all about recognizing individuals for their works, and if you know anything about this organization, the work they are doing for our young Black Men through their mentorship program as well as the impact they make within OUR COMMUNITY is extraordinary. I pray the legacy that 100 Black Men Of Metropolitan Houston are creating continues to live long and be cause their work is vital! I was so honored to have created the Pillar and Legacy awards.
Our goal is to create trophies, awards, and other custom items that make the recipient feel seen and valued. I pray that just that happened when the recipients received theirs.
This opportunity was my second Gala, but a first milestone in soooooo many ways!!! The type of awards I created were my first time doing them, there was no way I'dallow that to miss out on something great. Instead, I welcomed the challenge and said "how can i make this a Bestowed Petals creation?" When I say they stretched me!!!! Baby!!! But I learned sooooooo much from new techniques, what materials and tools to use, and I'm just extremely grateful that God has given me the mindset to always be open to learn something new. Each award was put together piece by piece and heavy on the details, no premade materials were used and for that I'm super proud of myself. I now can say what worked well, what improvements I need to make, and all that was possible from simply being given an opportunity. Nothing is ever perfect but I do pride myself on going that extra mile. When things were out of my control, I took it back and made additional awards as well. This was another experience that showed me when it comes to being an entrepreneur you must understand the art of pivoting. I'm on this POETIC Quest of mine and there's no turning back!!!!
God continues to be great. Placing me in rooms to grow. Allowing people to speak my name when I'm not around. I'm ever so grateful for His blessings.
Bestowed Petals will continue to bloom even through seasons of pruning, replanting, and growth. Allow us to help you make someone's day. It's time that we make recognition and appreciation a thing of normalcy to where people don't have to second guess their contributions and impact. Don't wait until the day when the pastor tells you "2 minutes please for expression" and the person it's for will never hear those words.
