Greetings Black Chicken Host Community!
With all the craziness in the world, we thought we’d (hopefully) make things a little easier for our current and future shared/VPS hosting clients. From now on, we are offering FREE SSL CERTIFICATES! Our WordPress Only product has had free SSL certificates since its inception, and we’ve been working really hard to make this feasible for our shared and VPS clients.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be canceling upcoming CP SSL annual invoices, so if you see a terminated invoice on your account, don’t worry!
Some questions that you may have:
How do I enable my free SSL certificate?
Whenever you’re ready to enable your SSL certificate, simply open up a support ticket and we can take care of the rest!
My SSL certificate is enabled, what’s next?
The next step would be changing your site over to the secure HTTPS which, if it's using WordPress, we offer as a free service. Since this process involves altering your live site’s database to change everything to HTTPS, we recommend having us perform this task during off-peak hours. If you have a specific night you’d like this done just let us know!
I got a notification about a domain failing verification, what’s up with that?
This could be due to a number of reasons, though most likely the domain doesn’t resolve to the server. If you do receive this kind of notification, open up a support ticket and we’ll take a look!
Will I get a refund if I’ve already paid for my SSL certificate?
We are issuing refunds for the CP SSL products if you’ve paid your CP SSL invoice since March 18, 2020. Don’t see the refund yet? Contact us and we can get that sorted. We are unable to issue refunds for invoices before March 18th, unfortunately.
As always, please let us know if you have any additional questions or require assistance!
