Are you willing to lose the ability to accept credit cards? Do you trust everyone on your staff? We hope do but 25% of all employees are thieves (relatives and friends included).

Today my card number was used for a food pickup at a National Hamburger Chain. My actual card was in my wallet. I know where my card number was stolen. It was at a restaurant here in Houston. The ONLY place my card was out of my hand and out if my sight.

The card brands (Visa, Master Card) can and do cancel your ability to accept cards if your business is flagged for theft. Not being able to accept credit cards is the kiss of death for a restaurant.

Square LAYS OFF 4,000 employees. Close to 40% of total employees.

Toast RAISES processing costs for existing customers and also raises other costs for existing customers.

Do you have any guesses why Square laid off so much of its workforce and Toast has raised their fees for processing?

We don’t think this is good news for you if you use their POS products and process credit cards with them.

The March 2026 increase was NOT by the card brands (Visa, Master Card) but by a POS company. Is this the first of more increases to come? Why should you pay for their miscalculations?
