Before You Spend More on Marketing, Ask Yourself This…

Are your marketing efforts bringing in paying customers, or are you simply generating more clicks, views, and engagement?

Many business owners invest in Google Ads, SEO, social media, and websites without knowing which channels are actually contributing to revenue.

Before increasing your marketing budget, ask these four questions:

1️⃣ Where are your customers coming from?
Track which channels generate real inquiries and sales, not just traffic.

2️⃣ What does it cost to acquire a customer?
If you spend $1,000 and gain 10 new customers, that's $100 per customer. Is that profitable for your business?

3️⃣ Are your leads converting into sales?
Sometimes you don't need more leads. You need better follow-up, clearer offers, or a stronger sales process.

4️⃣ What should you stop, improve, or scale?
Invest more in what works, improve what has potential, and reconsider what isn't delivering results.

More marketing doesn't always mean more growth. Better decisions do.

We help businesses connect marketing strategy, performance, and measurable business goals.

BETTER STRATEGY. SMARTER SPENDING.

💬 Business owners, do you know which marketing channel brings you the most paying customers?

AI Can Make Your Business Faster. But Can You Trust It to Make Every Decision?

AI is changing how businesses operate, from creating marketing content and analyzing data to improving workflows and saving valuable time.

But there's an important difference between using AI to work faster and relying on AI to make the right decisions.

A Harvard Business School and Boston Consulting Group field experiment involving 758 consultants found that, on tasks suited to AI, participants completed work approximately 25% faster with over 40% higher quality.

However, when working on a task outside AI's strengths, participants using AI were 19 percentage points less likely to reach the correct solution.

That's a lesson every business owner should consider.

Where AI can help:

-Drafting content and generating ideas
-Research and summarizing information
-Analyzing data and preparing reports
-Automating repetitive tasks
-Where human oversight matters:
-Developing marketing and business strategies
-Optimizing advertising campaigns
-Building a recognizable brand

Evaluating recommendations before making decisions

Where people remain essential:

Understanding customers' real challenges

Building relationships and earning trust

Leading teams and managing change

Making decisions that affect customers and business growth

We believe at BIZ Consulting Group that AI should support your business strategy, not replace it.

The goal isn't to use AI everywhere. It's to identify where technology can improve efficiency while keeping the expertise, creativity, and personal relationships that make your business valuable.

AI can help you move faster. Human judgment helps you move in the right direction.

Our chart shares BIZ Consulting Group's assessment of where AI can be most useful. The scores are illustrative judgments, not measured results from the research.

Business owners: Where has AI helped your business the most, and where do you still prefer a human approach?

Strong businesses help build stronger communities.

We were grateful to once again participate as an exhibitor at the Fort Bend ISD Small Business Enterprise Program Workshop in Sugar Land, connecting with local business owners, community partners, and organizations committed to helping small businesses move forward.

The workshop provided valuable information on doing business with FBISD, procurement opportunities, vendor registration and certification, business resources, and partnership opportunities.

A special thank you to Jeanette Boleware and the FBISD Small Business Enterprise Program Office for inviting BIZ Consulting Group to participate and for continuing to create opportunities that connect small businesses with information, resources, and relationships that can support their growth.

We believe at BIZ Consulting Group business growth goes beyond marketing.

Strategy, education, visibility, relationships, and community involvement all play a role in building stronger businesses.

Thank you, Jeanette and FBISD, for having us.

We’re proud to support the small-business community. ❤️

AI knows your business. But will it recommend it?

Being visible online and being recommended by AI are becoming two different things.

A 2026 benchmark of 17,595 local businesses found:

🔎 95.8% were recognized by AI by name.
🤖 But ChatGPT recommended the business only 29.4% of the time when asked who to use.

What does this mean for business owners?

Being found is only step one.

Your website, Google Business Profile, reviews, local SEO, content, business information, and overall online reputation should clearly communicate:
✔️ What you do
✔️ Who you help
✔️ Where you serve
✔️ Why customers should trust you

AI visibility isn't about chasing a new marketing trick. It's about making your business clear, credible, consistent, and easy to understand wherever customers and AI look for answers.

October Business Insight:
Being found gets you into the conversation. Being trusted helps you get considered.

Have you asked ChatGPT or another AI platform to recommend businesses in your industry and city?

Great business relationships often start with one conversation.

Looking back at our August Business Owners Power Lunch at Local Table in Katy, we were reminded why bringing local business owners and professionals together matters.

The afternoon wasn't about simply exchanging business cards. It was about having meaningful conversations, learning about each other's businesses, sharing ideas, discovering referral opportunities, and building relationships that can continue long after the event.

Business owners had the opportunity to introduce themselves, connect with other local professionals and decision-makers, exchange referrals, explore potential partnerships, and increase their visibility within the Katy business community.

Business growth isn't built through marketing alone. Strong businesses are built through a combination of strategy, visibility, trusted relationships, community involvement, and consistent ex*****on.

That's also why we continue creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs and professionals to meet face-to-face. You never know which conversation could lead to your next client, referral partner, strategic relationship, or new opportunity.

A big thank-you to everyone who joined us at Local Table in Katy on August 26 and contributed to such a welcoming and collaborative afternoon.

📸 Here are a few moments from our August Power Lunch.

Your Marketing Is Working. But Is It Working Together?

You have a website.
You're posting on social media.
Your business appears on Google.
Maybe you're investing in SEO or advertising.

So why aren't those efforts generating as many leads or customers as you expected?

Sometimes the problem isn't that your marketing isn't working.

The problem is that the pieces aren't connected.

Think about the journey a potential customer takes:

SEARCH → DISCOVER → RESEARCH → TRUST → TAKE ACTION → FOLLOW-UP → CUSTOMER

A customer may discover you through Google, social media, an ad, AI search, or a referral. But discovery is only the beginning.

If they reach your website and can't quickly understand what you offer, you may lose them.

If your website says one thing and your social media communicates something different, trust can weaken.

If your Google Business Profile, website, reviews, and contact information aren't consistent, researching your business becomes harder.

And if someone finally calls, submits a form, or requests a quote—but the follow-up is slow or unclear—you can lose a lead that your marketing already worked to generate.

That's why more marketing isn't always the answer.

Before adding another platform or increasing your advertising budget, look at how your existing marketing connects:

→ Can the right customers find you?
→ Do they immediately understand what you do?
→ Does your online presence build trust?
→ Is there a clear next step?
→ Are leads followed up consistently?
→ Do you know which marketing efforts actually become customers?

Your website, SEO, Google presence, social media, advertising, reviews, lead generation, and sales process shouldn't operate as separate activities.

They should work as one connected system.

Because getting attention isn't enough.

The next step has to connect.

When the pieces work together, you're not simply doing more marketing—you're giving the marketing you already have a better opportunity to produce results.

Business owners: Where do you think your biggest gap is right now-getting found, building trust, generating leads, or converting those leads into customers?
