What do the two back tables look like at your seminars?
At the majority of dinner seminars I attend, every table is set up the same, including the two tables in the back of the room.
But Iโve noticed that many top seminar producers do something different. They put โRESERVEDโ signs on the two back tables.
Why?
Because theyโve learned how disruptive late arrivals can be. If youโre in the middle of an important part of your presentation when a couple walks in late. They stop at the entrance, look around the room, and start walking from table to table trying to find two open seats.
Now the audience is watching them instead of listening to you.
In some cases, Iโve seen the entire seminar practically comes to a stop while everyone waits for the late guests to get settled.
Two simple โRESERVEDโ signs can help prevent all of this.
Reserving the two back tables accomplishes a few things:
- It encourages guests who arrive on time to fill the room from the front.
- It gives late arrivals a place to sit without walking around the room.
- It allows the waitstaff to take their order with minimal disruption.
- Most importantly, it helps you maintain control of the room and keep attention on your presentation.
Itโs a small detail, but small details can make a big difference in how smoothly a seminar runs.
