This episode is for the NP wondering if independent practice is even possible in her state.
For the clinician who dreads the marketing part of running a business.
For the owner whose practice has grown so much she’s become the bottleneck in it.
Monica McKitterick opened her DPC in one of the most restrictive NP states in the country. $20K. Craigslist furniture. A website she built herself. She did her own admin, her own faxes, her own networking. 325 patients in, she finally hired help. Now? Three locations. Ten employees. And the moment every growing practice owner eventually hits.
You can’t see patients AND run the business.
Episode 23 is live. The shift no clinician is trained for.

This one habit is costing practices more growth than they realize: giving up too soon.

Most people don’t convert the first time they see you. It’s not because they’re not interested.

It’s often because life gets busy. Timing is off. Other priorities take over.

That’s where most practices lose momentum. They follow up once… maybe twice… then stop.

Meanwhile, the people who keep showing up, keep nurturing, and keep following up are the ones who win.

I’ve had people follow my content for years before they ever reached out. Years! Then one day, the timing was finally right.

So no, follow-up isn’t bothering people.
It’s building trust.
It’s staying visible.
It’s being there when they’re finally ready.

The truth is, the lead you think is cold today might become your best client later, but only if you don’t disappear.

If your practice growth feels stuck, this might be the first place to look.

Build a follow up strategy. They also expressed interest once the might not have been ready at the time.

If you’re still operating under the "if I build a website, they will come" philosophy, I have some tough love for you: Hope is not a strategy. It’s definitely not a marketing plan.

If you are the best clinician for your specific niche, but an AI recommends a subpar competitor because their "digital vitals" were better, you are missing an opportunity to better serve your community.

The Success Story: We have to brag for a second because this is huge. This week, one of our custom clients posted a video testimony that got us excited. She was found via GEO. A potential patient asked an AI chat for a recommendation for a specific type of care, and the AI didn't just give a list: it specifically recommended her practice and cited her as the reason why.

Stop marketing like it’s 2018. The search bar is evolving. Are you?

Let’s be real for a second. While you were busy providing life-changing care, the internet went and changed the locks. If you’re still operating under the "if I build a website, they will come" philosophy, I have some tough love for you: Hope is not a strategy. It’s definitely not a marketing pl...

One of the cleanest places I’ve ever been… I didn’t see trash anywhere.

Even the subway system? Super organized. Clear markings. The floor literally looked mopped.
Everything felt intentional, like the environment itself was designed to feel calm.

But I’ll be honest… when I first arrived, I was overwhelmed.

I don’t speak Japanese (and no, I didn’t learn anything from my sister-in-law all these years 😅). So I had to rely on body language, signals, and intuition to figure things out.

And it hit me:
This is what it feels like for people who visit a country without knowing the language. As a Spanish speaker anything close to Spanish is easy for me to mostly understand and feels less foreign.

I was paying attention to everything.
Tone. Gestures. Movement. Energy.
You’re not just “seeing” you’re reading the room.

I loved seeing the temples and shrines… and then turning around and seeing modern architecture.

Fun fact: I got my bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Interior Design/Interior Architecture, and that foundation is literally what helped me become the graphic + web designer I am today.

I’m observant. Like very 😅

What stood out the most was the way Japanese design uses light.

Natural light. Soft lighting. Warm lighting. Lanterns (which I was OBSESSED with).

Because they don’t just use light to “see”…

They use light to create a feeling.

Good design isn’t just what something looks like. It’s what it makes you feel.

That’s why people are drawn to certain spaces.
That’s why some brands feel “expensive” before you even know the price.
That’s why some websites make you want to stay… and others make you click out immediately.

Because design speaks, even without words.

Tired of your dated headshots? Have your patients or clients ever told you, you look different on your website? 🫣 (this actually happened to one of my clients)

I get it, branded photoshoots are expensive! Believe me I know I have spent a few thousand over the years for branding and lifestyle photoshoots!

Now, you can spend less than $350/year for on-demand quality photoshoots and brolls and have fresh new content and marketing material when you need it!
