Sometimes the first step in making a sign… is standing in a field. 😂

We were out surveying a site for a new sign project today, because a good sign isn't just about what looks great on a computer. It has to work where it's going.

We look at things like how you approach the property, how far away the sign needs to be seen, traffic speed, visibility, surroundings, placement, size, color and contrast.

That's also why we offer free sign consultations.

They're perfect for the:

“We know we need a sign, but we have no idea what we want.”

Or the:

“I have LOTS of ideas, but I don't know what would actually work here.” 😂

You don't have to have it all figured out before you call us. That's part of what we're here for.

Your neighborhood entrance should give you that “welcome home” feeling, and we think these do just that. 💙

Now that the landscaping is complete, the new Bridgeforth Mill signs look right at home. We’ve received several messages from residents and passersby telling us how great they look, and that means so much to us!

A big shoutout to Flat Creek Landscaping for putting the finishing touches around the signs. Beautiful work! 🌿

The finished sign gets all the attention. The prep work? Not so much. 😂

But this is where a whole lot of the time goes.

Sanding, prepping, masking, painting, and then the detail work is done by hand. There are a lot of hours between “here's the design” and “here's your sign.”

We thought we'd show you a little of the part you don't usually get to see.

Good signs take time. And we're pretty picky about the details.

Picking out paint colors at Ace of Amelia this morning, the best and sometimes hardest part of the job! 🎨

You wouldn’t think choosing the right shade would be so difficult…until you’re standing in front of approximately 847 versions of the same color. 😂

Well, these might be some of the most fun banners we've printed.

These are headed to the State 4-H Horse Show, where they'll be used to decorate the horses' stalls. Each horse got its own Alice in Wonderland character, and I absolutely love how they turned out.

Queen of Hearts, Cheshire Cat, White Rabbit and Alice.

This is also one of those projects that reminds me how many things we make that people don't necessarily think to ask us for.

Banners don't have to advertise a business. They can decorate a horse stall, celebrate a senior, dress up a booth, decorate a party, recognize a team, create a photo backdrop... pretty much if you have an idea, we'll figure out how to put it on something.

Now I'm just waiting for pictures of the finished stalls because I NEED to see the whole thing. 😂

A great evening with the Amelia County Chamber of Commerce!

We had Lenora Wright with the Virginia Cooperative Extension join us to share some of the programs, resources, and opportunities they have available to our community. There is always more happening right here in Amelia than you realize!

And of course, a good meeting needs good food. Pippy's Dog House took care of dinner, and if you haven't tried them yet, you need to fix that. 😋

We love getting the chance to spend an evening learning more about the people and businesses that make Amelia such a great little community

Have something you need to tell people, but don't want to invest a lot of money?

Sometimes a simple yard sign is all you need.

Ward's Chapel United Methodist Church needed an easy way to let people passing by know what time worship starts, so we made them this.

Yard signs aren't just for elections and real estate. They're great for events, fundraisers, churches, hiring, grand openings, directions, sales, sports, schools and just about anything else you need people to notice.

And you don't have to order a huge quantity.

We can make 1 or 10,000.

Sometimes simple really does the job.

We’ve made several of these lately and it got us thinking... these little magnets can do a whole lot more than hold a school calendar. 👀

We originally started making these as school calendar magnets for local Realtors, but there are SO many ways businesses, teams and organizations could use them.

Think football or baseball schedules sold as a fundraiser. Important community numbers sponsored by a Realtor or insurance agent. Church calendars. Local event calendars. Even a handy “new homeowner” magnet with all those numbers you don’t know you need until you need them.

The trick is making it something people actually want to keep on their refrigerator. Because an ad gets seen once.

A useful magnet gets seen every time somebody goes looking for the ketchup. 😂

Businesses: sponsor something useful and put your name on it.
Teams & organizations: sell the advertising space and turn it into a fundraiser.

Everybody else: steal this idea. Seriously. We give the good ones away around here. 😏
