Good afternoon everyone.
I want to re-address some things I’ve went over in the past but for all of the new folks I will reiterate it again.
When it comes to these systems you have to go into them with a certain level of comfort and understanding that they are by no means perfect, there is no such thing as perfection. Nothing is going to work 100% flawlessly all of the time.
Over the past few weeks users have been experiencing difficulty with the VOD app, movies and shows not loading, longer waits for things to load, no additional servers to choose from. The engineer team is aware and have been making changes, updating servers, adding additional servers etc.. this will always be an ongoing feat as long as people are using the system.
Not everyone experiences the same issues as others, a good portion of problems are either user error or internet related. Depending on who your internet provider is and if you use their equipment sometimes determines if they are blocking you from accessing certain content and also servers. Your ISP embeds very high security protocols within their routers which blocks content that it feels could be a threat. Purchasing your own router most times fixes those issues as you have more control.
These units are definitely not for everyone, if you’re not very technical savvy and not good with electronics you might have a more difficult time operating them as others who have more experience. Sometimes you may have to use more than one or two additional apps to accomplish the goal. Most of the time the standard apps that come pre loaded are all you need, other times you may need a couple backup apps to get the job done. Only problem sometimes with downloading additional third party apps is risking security and longevity of the app itself. HDO and Onstream were once great backup services but have since been out of service and most likely not returning.
So I said all of that to say this, if you’re purchasing one of these units expecting it to work flawlessly without any issues 100% of the time this might not be the system for you and you might want to look into reverting back to cable/satellite or any other paid service that you were using prior. I’m not trying to discourage you from purchasing or using one just simply stating the facts.
I certainly hope this post has cleared up a few things for you. Thank you and have a great day.
