I used to think that creating multiple brand marks took away from brand consistency. I’ve learned over the last couple years that, when done with care and intention, multiple brand marks (or sub logos) can actually add to the strength of the brand.
Let me explain.
I always give my clients at least two (and almost always more!) arrangements of their primary logo. This usually includes a horizontal and vertical version, meaning they can use each logo in different settings while staying true to their brand. Maybe the horizontal version goes on their website and the vertical version is on branded notebooks.
For Gather and Grow, I was thinking about all of the ways a brand exists in a coffee shop and greenhouse: it lives on merch, coffee cups, packaging, print materials, aprons and shirts, etc. I wanted to create a flexible, living brand that could be expanded into all kinds of applications while remaining cohesive.
Each mark adds strength, personality, and a new way to execute the brand in real life. 🔥
