‼️ ‼️ATTENTION NORTH VALLEY FIBERCOM CUSTOMERS ‼️ ‼️
Valley FiberCom will be conducting scheduled network maintenance and software upgrades beginning tonight, August 18 at 12:00am. This maintenance window is for the NORTH Valley FiberCom Area ONLY!

During this maintenance window, some customers may experience temporary service disruptions. Service disruptions will not occur for all customers at the same time and will typically be limited to the period when the equipment serving your area is being updated.

Each maintenance window is reserved through 6:00am to allow additional time to address any issues that may arise during the upgrades.

We understand that interruptions to your services are never convenient. To minimize the impact, we have scheduled this work during overnight hours when network usage is typically at its lowest.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to maintain and improve our network. Thank you for choosing Valley FiberCom for your communications needs.

And the numbers are in! 📊

With our South Valley FiberCom Customer Appreciation Lunches all wrapped up, we did what any reasonable group of people would do after serving hundreds of meals across seven communities… we totaled everything up.

This summer, we made stops in Lake Preston, Colman, Arlington, Volga, De Smet, Iroquois and Flandreau — and the final numbers are pretty fun to see:

🍔 850 burgers
🌭 406 hot dogs
🥔 170 lbs. of potato salad
🥤 1,000+ sodas
👥 865 guests

Not included in the official statistics: miles traveled, tables set up, cookies and chips served, things packed and unpacked 7x, step count, or the occasional uninvited South Dakota summer guest with wings. 🪰😅

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us! These lunches gave us a chance to spend time in the communities we serve and visit with the people who make them home.

And a big thank you to our Valley team for all the cooking, hauling, setting up, serving, cleaning up, and everything else that went into making seven lunches happen.

Next up: North Valley! Customer appreciation events will be held soon in Ipswich, Pollock/Glenham, Eureka, Leola/Long Lake, and Hosmer, with dates to be announced very soon. Keep an eye on our page! 👀

How do we know this is a scam? We will never ask you to update or verify personal information — including billing information, passwords, or account details — through an email or by clicking a link.

If you receive an email like this, do not click the link, reply, or provide any information.

And if you ever have even a shred of doubt about whether an email from us is legitimate, give us a call. 📞We’d much rather have you check with us first. Those calls also help make us aware of scams circulating under our name, so we can warn other customers and help spread the word.

Today is a bittersweet day at Valley FiberCom, as we say "see ya soon" to our Customer Service Rep in Volga, Kim Chase, who is officially retiring after seven and a half years with us. 💙

Kim has been part of Valley FiberCom from the very beginning. She was the second employee hired in our new south service area over 7 years ago, starting her work from her kitchen table before our Volga office was even finished.

When Volga became the first community we served, Kim went door to door introducing Valley FiberCom to residents, answering questions, making connections, and helping families and businesses sign up for fiber internet. Long before there was a front counter to stand behind, she was building the relationships that would become such an important part of who we are.

And throughout her time with Valley FiberCom, that commitment to people never changed.

For Kim, going the extra mile was the bare minimum. Going the extra five miles was much closer to her norm.

Whether someone walked through the front office door or called with a question, Kim cared about making sure they were taken care of. She listened, followed through, found answers, and did everything she could to help. When something required more time, effort, or persistence, she gave it without hesitation.

That level of care made Kim a familiar and trusted face to so many of our customers. It also made her an invaluable part of our team. Her coworkers know how much heart she put into her work, and our customers felt it in every conversation.

Congratulations on your retirement, Kim. We are incredibly grateful for everything you’ve given Valley FiberCom, and we wish you nothing but happiness in this next chapter. 💙💚✈

As July winds down, we’re taking a moment to celebrate one of our dedicated team members marking a work anniversary this month at Valley FiberCom. 💚💙

👏 Join us in congratulating Lane, Outside Plant Manager based out of our De Smet office, on 7 years of service!

Lane’s work plays an important role in keeping our network strong and our rural communities connected. This year, we asked: “What part of your day-to-day work at Valley makes you feel like you’re making a difference?”
