π¨ Nationwide Emergency Alert Test Today π¨
Just a quick reminder to everyone that today, Oct. 4th at 2:20 p.m. ET, there will be a nationwide emergency alert test on various communication devices. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has coordinated this test with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to ensure our emergency alert systems are working effectively.
During the test, you may receive the alert on your cell phone, wireless devices, radios, and TVs. The test will last for one minute, and no immediate action is required from you. Please remember that this is a standard procedure that happens at least once every three years to assess the functionality of our emergency alert systems.
While we hope to never experience a real emergency, it's crucial to keep our alert systems in top-notch condition to ensure the safety of ourselves and our communities. So, don't be alarmed when you hear the alert today and take it as an assurance that our emergency systems are being thoroughly assessed and maintained.
