This week, five public officials — including a police chief, a mayor, a police sergeant, a 911 dispatch supervisor, and a police officer — were arrested on malfeasance charges after allegedly accessing protected government databases and sharing sensitive case information, including details about victims in active investigations, directly with a criminal defendant.

Five officials. Four agencies. All accused of the same thing: using their access to systems built on public trust to compromise an active criminal case.

As three of our CAD sites were getting hammered by tornados and high winds, with trees falling all over the place and wrecks happening left and right, we logged in to check CAD performance and all three were operating at 25% resource useage or less, meaning all three had at least 75% of provisioned horsepower and memory available. That’s what efficient software architecture looks like. Proud moment for us.
