The difference between pretty palettes and color that converts?

Strategy.

Here’s the framework I use to think more strategically about color:
1) Start by observing your colors and notice how they make you feel.
2) Analyze what message your colors relay. What action will it drive?
3) Reflect on how your colors connect with your audience and what they should feel.

This is exactly what I do with growing businesses AND established brands who are sitting on untapped color equity—colors they already own, but haven’t been using with intention.

Give it a try with this palette and see what you can come up with! You can check our our thoughts below.

Here is what we came up with - this palette is for brands that want every touchpoint to feel regenerative, alive, and deeply intentional. Think medical spas, luxury retreats, therapy centers, integrative medicine practices, and biohacking brands.

What did you celebrate during Hispanic and Heritage Month?

While Hispanic Heritage Month is coming to a close, celebration of our culture doesn't end with a date on the calendar. However, this month is an excellent reminder that there is beauty in being proud of your heritage and sharing it with others.

For me, it serves as a reminder to use my experiences as a multicultural Latina to help connect and uplift our diverse community.

As a proud Mexican, Colombian, and Venezuelan, I’ve learned to embrace the richness of my unique cultural upbringing. It has taught me to honor the different parts that make us whole—our traditions, our stories, and our shared values. But most importantly, it’s shown me the power of celebrating our heritage without diminishing others.

We don’t have to compare or compete to feel proud of who we are. Instead, we can lift each other up and find strength in our collective diversity.

So, what does Hispanic Heritage Month remind you to celebrate? I’d love to hear your thoughts and stories in the comments below!

In our cultura latina, we’re taught to work hard, stay honest, and let our efforts speak for themselves. I love this value, but I let it betray me.

I used to believe that hard work alone would lead to promotions and raises. I thought my ethics and dedication would protect me. But I learned the hard way that staying silent while others took advantage of my work wasn’t the answer.

I took on more projects than anyone else on our small team. My boss? She spent her time in “meetings” that were really lunch happy hours or working on freelance gigs during office hours. When things got tough, I was left to figure it out while she disappeared.

I kept quiet. Then she took credit for my work.
So, I worked harder, thinking that would eventually pay off.

Until I reached a breaking point and quit my favorite job because of a bad boss.

🚩The lesson learned?
As Latinos/Hispanics, our dedication to hard work is a strength, but it should never come at the expense of our self-worth or values. That experience taught me to speak up, set boundaries, and recognize my value. It also shaped me into a business owner who truly values the contributions of others. And most importantly, it reminded me that our cultural roots should empower us—not hold us back.

I’d love to hear your stories—how have you navigated cultural norms in your career? Let’s learn from each other.

Stop stealing palettes off the internet (without a strategy).

It's easy to find creators who are talking about and even sharing pretty palettes But it's typically treated like decoration. Use this palette because it's aesthetically pleasing and looks nice on graphics.

But a HEX code or color palette doesn't tell you much. Who is the palette for? What does it signal to your audience if you use it?

Using colors just because you like them can be dangerous. A palette choice isn't a mood. What can work in one market will fail in another.

This is why a color strategy is so important. If you struggle to understand how to create a color strategy start with these questions:
- Who is this palette talking to?
- What emotions do these colors drive?
- Does it speak to/hurt a specific cultural audience?
- How might the meaning of these colors change across audiences or industries?

Pretty palettes can be forgotten. Color strategy helps you stand out.

Color is deeply rooted in a country’s history and its people—it is so much more than color notations.
When we examine Hispanic and Latino culture, we can see how color is infused in our traditions, beliefs, folk dances, holidays, artwork, textiles, flags, and even sports.

And while Hispanics and Latinos come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, you do see a handful of symbolic colors used repeatedly across Hispanic and Latin cultures. Colors like:

- Rosa Fucsia
- Turquoise
- Terracotta
- Amber Gold
- Indigo or Añil

This month on the blog, we are digging into the meaning behind these colors. And as the fastest-growing demographic in the U.S., understanding how to communicate and market to Hispanic and Latino audiences is essential.

I get this question asked often.👇🏽

What’s the difference between Hispanic and Latino?

In simple terms:
- Hispanic is language-based
- Latino is geography-based

If you are looking to market and connect with our community, it’s important to understand these terms. Using only one might mean you exclude some of our community.

A few quick tips as you start to dig into learning more:
- Never focus on someone's accent to define their identity
- It's not just about words; use inclusive and meaningful visuals
- We aren't one monolithic group
- Don't assume Google knows the answer. Start having conversations with our community!

Got questions? Leave them in the comments!

Pretty palettes don't convert. Strategy does.

Color only works when it's used intentionally.

Here's a quick way to train your eye: every time you spot a color combination you love, ask yourself three questions:
1. What emotion does this trigger?
2. What action would it drive?
3. How does this make people feel about our brand?

I found these hues in outdoor seating covers surrounded by white, brown, and other neutrals. It triggered feelings of warmth, comfort, and energy.

This combination can work for brands that want to feel approachable but not timid—think wellness, makeup, or lifestyle brands that need warmth and energy in the same breath.

How you balance these hues within your designs is just as important as the palette itself, but that's a conversation for another post.

Color can't be reduced to RGB, CMYK or PMS. It tells stories, evokes emotions, and creates cultural connections.

In Hispanic and Latino cultures, color plays an incredibly important role. The colors you see represented in our art, fashion, architecture and even everyday household objects are a celebration of our rich traditions and heritage.

And while Hispanics and Latinos are not monolithic, you do see a handful of symbolic colors used repeatedly across Hispanic and Latin cultures. Colors like:

- Rosa Fucsia
- Turquoise
- Terracotta
- Amber Gold
- Indigo or Añil

During Hispanic Heritage month, you are likely to see these colors often in advertisements and celebrations.

And with a 4.4 trillion in purchasing power understanding this cultural context is not just nice to know, it is an essential communication element when reaching to Hispanic and Latino audiences.

I brought a dead leaf back to life with markers (and got a lesson on color).

Sometimes I get so busy building for clients that I put my own creative play on the back burner. I was taking my son to the park and decided to take my sketchbook and markers with me.

At the park, I saw a leaf.
It was brown, brittle, and at the end of its life cycle.

I grabbed my markers and drew on some hot pink, minty green, cobalt blue and black outlines.
And suddenly the leaf felt alive again.

But what struck me the most was that the material itself shifted how the colors behaved.
The hot pink turned more redish.
The green enhanced the textures.
And the blacks looked more warm gray.

One of the things I see brand designers forget is how color will interact with surfaces, textures and even how the light reflects from it. Color isn't one-dimensional. You will get different results from a screen to print, on packaging, on textiles, and even in paint.

Thankful for the reminder to slow down and look for inspiration on unexpected canvases.

Growing up, I didn’t see many Latinos or Hispanics in leadership roles within my design industry. It made me wonder: Why not us?

Part of me thought maybe they had to fight harder to prove their worth, or maybe it just wasn’t in the cards. But instead of being angry or complaining about the lack of representation, I made it my personal mission to learn, work hard, and show up with power, integrity, and humility.

I may not have had those people to look up to, but I knew I could lead, represent and empower others along the way.

I did my first course with LinkedIn Learning 8 years ago. That evolved into more courses, speaking engagements, and even more opportunities I could have never imagined. I feel proud to represent my community as a Latina while empowering a global audience.

👏🏽 Always remember...
→ Representation matters. But if you don’t see it, bring your chair to the table—because there is plenty of room for ALL OF US to shine!

→ When we step into leadership roles, we’re not just opening doors for ourselves—we’re holding them open for the next generation.

→ People before us have innovated and paved the way for what we have today. We must continue to pass down that legacy.

So tell me: what’s ONE way your brand or business can show up to empower others this week?
