I am so excited and honored to be supporting the 11th annual Dog Days Run or Walk this Saturday! I’m getting to judge the “Run-By Pageant” with some other sweet people. 💜

This super-fun, dog-friendly event benefits a truly WAG-worthy cause - Mississippi Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. 💜

Join us this Saturday, June 13th, at Kamper Park, for a morning of running, walking, wagging tails, and taking a difference. Grab your fur baby, gather your friends and family, and come support an incredible cause that impacts so many lives.

I’m so perplexed! 😱🤦🏼‍♀️ I will be celebrating when this package arrives in Northwestern Ohio because I’m facing reprinting this custom cut invitation order and reshipping (overnight this time) with the little gift I had included for my customer’s daughter!

US Postal Service, I have never seen the likes of this! (Landontalks, That’s a phrase you should cover soon if you haven’t yet! 🤣) This package — that I sent USPS Priority Mail — was expected to be delivered Friday or Saturday 6/5 or 6/6. Instead, it’s bounced from Hattiesburg to:

⭐️ Gulfport MS
⭐️ Indianapolis IN
⭐️ Pittsburgh PA
⭐️ Warrendale PA
⭐️ Pontiac MI
⭐️ Evansville IN
⭐️ Nashville T
⭐️ back to Indianapolis
⭐️ and now Pontiac again

Hopefully, it’s headed into Ohio now. 😭 Still looking for reasons to celebrate! 🤣☺️🙌🏻♥️

What are you celebrating today? I’d love to celebrate with you! 🎉 Me? Envelope liners. 😍😍😍 Definitely a detail to celebrate!

They are suuuuch a special touch and have the added bonus of scratching some type of itch for me! I lovvvvve assembling them and when they feature a brand new hand painted repeating pattern art, it makes it EXTRA FUN. 🎉

The coordinating invites I shouldn’t show just yet (they just went out) but I will later. And then I think maybe those two designs will get some coordinating and blender patterns to go with and then get added to my shop! ☺️🙌🏻♥️ Leaning into my word for the year these days: DEVELOPMENT!

I draw and design all my own stuff and it is so fun doing Human Intelligence activities. I’d love to do some for you! 🫶🏻

I hope you are finding things to celebrate today! I found myself tending to another couple turtles today so I’m celebrating *ART in NATURE*. These creatures are crazy fascinating. ☺️🙌🏻♥️

One of them was the exact guy I moved on Monday — and thank goodness I didn’t take him way far because I have learned some things since then. 🎉

🐢 (Edited to add new info I learned from a sweet commenter!) These creatures are *BOX TURTLES*! All turtles are tortoises but not all tortoises are turtles. These *Box Turtles* are members of the American pond turtle family.
🐢 When I find one on the road, I should move it to the other side of the road, in same direction it was headed but not very far off road. Monday *Box Turtle* must’ve fared okay because he was up on our hill today. I know it was the exact same one because the shell markings today match the markings in pics from Monday. 🎉
🐢 After coming across the second *box turtle* today, I started wondering what the deal was so I did some reading. I learned that it’s mating season for them — so males are out lookin for a mate and females will be out looking for a place to bury eggs!

Happy JUUUUUUNE! I am celebrating this sweet start to the month of June today — my short visit with this little guy. 🐢 Do you ever stop and move turtles from the road? 💗

I stayed up drawing until 3am (more on those drawings this week!) and was planning on a brief short nap but this was more important so no nap for me 🤣 I just couldn’t let him get squished! This amazing little creature — the shell is delightfully beautiful and, to me, *absolutely* art in nature. 🖼️

I got to wake up again today so here’s a few celebratory moments recently! What are you celebrating today? ☺️🙌🏻♥️

I’m celebrating so much — life, connection and experiences, memories and joy. I love the lyrics of this song: “Sunlight fell and reminded me that life can be so gracious sometimes — And I felt like everything around me was connected somehow”. 💗

Last weekend, I got to see my youngest niece graduate from high school. I love to see a group of graduates throw their caps up in the air. 💙🎓

Then, we got to see some neat stuff in one of the places that helped build me - Waco, TX. The Gaines’ stuff is new since when I lived in Waco. My family left there when I was in 8th grade. I absolutely loved seeing all the Magnolia stuff. And that mural, “Everyone has a story worth telling”??? OMG YESSSS!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Also in Waco - I was thrilled to meet a couple of very talented local artists, too - Ellen Orchard and Jolee French. I bought a small print from Ellen Orchard that I love of the Silos. 🖼️ Then, we visited the Dr. Pepper Museum. It’s such an impressive museum! 🎉

AND THEN: The Baylor Bears - they were out! When I was little, I had speech therapy Baylor University and after my therapy, my mama would take me to see the bears. When I say CORE MEMORY — I *truly* mean:

I made sure we crossed over the Brazos River before we headed to San Antonio. There, we saw the Alamo, The River Walk, El Mercado and that’s always nice. How crazy is it that I saw someone I know FROM MISSISSIPPI while on the river walk?! Such a small world!

What a great feature on Ross Mansion B&B and Carriage House Events - I am so grateful to know these amazing humans, The Mallorys, and to have learned so much from them about this beautiful, historical home in Downtown Hattiesburg.

I mean can it even get more exciting over here?! 🎉🎉🎉 My new art leggings got here a couple days before my latest appointment with my knee doctor so I wore them to the appointment because they remind me of all this knee stuff! 🤣 Always a story. 🥰

Most all of my art has a story attached - and a lot designs have very specific memories attached, too. So this one - which I am calling Spring Swirls - I actually drew sitting right in the knee doctor’s waiting room. My SPRING SWIRLS art will *always* remind me of this whole adventure. I told the doctor this and he said, “Well that may not be a good thing?” But I said, “No, it IS a good thing because you’ve helped me so much!” 🤓

I’m celebrating that this art will *always* remind me that:
✨ Beautiful things can come from hard times.
✨ I have to be my own advocate. Sometimes doctors don’t listen quite right and you have to move on to someone who does.
✨ Some of my knee issues won’t go away completely but I am so very grateful that I found options that are helping without surgery.
✨ I am still able to do and accomplish a lot even if I have some limitations now. I continue to be able to walk, ride my bike, use my elliptical — and do daily squats that I want to be able to do until I’m an old lady! I can stand flat-footed, bend forward, and almost touch the ground with my flat palms.
✨ These knees have carried me through all the years with my kids, thousands of walks in amazing places (one of the best being my own yard), across the finish line of several half marathons, and they’ll continue to carry me…they just talk to me a little more now 🤣

What are you celebrating today?! I am celebrating that I get to share this watercolor now. 🎉 (A bit about the ordering process is below ⬇️)

The Parent-Teacher Organization has presented it to their beloved principal who was retiring so it can be revealed.☺️🙌🏻♥️

I was incredibly honored to get to do this and had so many memories flood my mind while sketching and painting. Both our daughters started school here. 🥰 I am not sure if they still do it this way, but when they started school, their kindergarten teacher looped up to first grade with the class. So, same teacher for KG & 1st Grade! It was really a great experience.

A bit about starting an order:
✨ I can watercolor any special place - like a church, a home, a school - and I actually do sketch and paint them!
✨ All I need is a reference photo. If possible, I like to take the photos, but that’s not the case a lot of times. So, I can paint from reference photos from customers as long as I have permission to paint from them.
✨ A deposit is required for me to start the job and then I’ll follow-up with a proof of my sketch.
✨ After sketch approval, I move onto the watercoloring and then send a final proof.
✨ I offer 10x8 and 11x14 prints (with some exceptions - shown in this reel is 17x11) and framing is available.
