The state of Texas is down 6,000 firefighters!

Even with that number of firefighters that Texas does not have, Texas hospitality is still being extended to California (and other states when needed) in their time of need and desperation to save their civilians.

This now means that here at home-already short handed departments are running thinner.

We need more people in the Fire industry. We need more people to act in bravery to stand at the front line and fight Mother Nature's beast called Fire. We need courageous men and woman who can take on a role that may not always get the honor it deserves. But the satisfaction that can come with it is beyond what words can describe. Don't believe me, just ask a firefighter. Go to your VFD or FD and ask them.

Make a difference. Save a life. Be part of a brotherhood that you can call family.

This is why it’s imperative your home/apartment/mobile home /RV have working smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher . Discuss an escape plan with your family and a meeting point outside the structure. Smoke detectors should be located inside and outside the entry to any sleeping quarters. Closing your bedroom door before sleeping can also give you additional time to escape .
