For Richard Woods, CEO of Albany Woodworks and Waste to Energy Systems, that meant finding a sustainable use for the wood chips, sawdust and shavings, a sizable byproduct of his flooring manufacturing company, operating since 1980. In the interest of efficiency, Richard began researching methods of converting his wood waste into a viable energy source in 2009. After 5 years of intense research and development, bioHearth® was born, bringing truth to the old saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

Description: The R&D/Office Assistant will be working to assist in the operations and development of our prototype biomass gasification unit. In this role, the selected individual will get firsthand experience with the process design, engineering processes, process safety and preparation of process packages involving design of common unit operations. The selected individual will have the opportunity to work with senior team members in a small business environment and become actively involved in the day to day operations at the site. They will also provide office administrative support, including filing, answering phones, answering emails. This job includes a great deal of growth potential for the right individual.

Looking for someone already in the local area. Re-location is not offered.

Preferred Skills:

Must be a self-starter.

Must demonstrate initiative and organizational skills.

Must be detail oriented and an effective communicator (verbal & written).

Proficient in CAD.

Understanding of mechanics.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Must be able to work in a close knit team environment with some outdoor conditions.
