PSA regarding iPhones:
If you have Stolen Device Protection turned on, we will not be able to factory reset your device.
It seems that the recent iOS 27 update will fail to install through Recovery Mode if Stolen Device Protection is turned on.
Unfortunately, this means if either you forget your Apple ID information, or if Face ID is not functioning properly while you have Stolen Device Protection on, your iPhone simply cannot be reset for the time being.
I have been advising people to simply turn this feature off (inside the Passcode settings) since its release, because if Face ID fails, you’re now unable to reset, resell, or trade your phone.
I also already have had three devices in the past two days fail to restore due to this feature. All this feature does is require Face ID to change the passcode, sign out of your Apple ID, or change your Apple ID Password.
From me over here at iRestoration: Please remember your Apple ID information, and be sure to turn off Stolen Device Protection before trading your phone. Thank you!
