Several of the power companies who provide power on our network have posted a message similar to this this morning. Bottom line - our network currently has backup power at strategic areas which have proven to be in problematic power areas as proven over the years. However, each individual transmission site does not have its own source of backup power. Therefore we could have outages for small periods of time as each region is affected.

TVA now notified [Power Company] that it has initiated Step 50 in the Emergency Load Curtailment Program (ELCP). This means they have requested that [Power Company] and other Local Power Companies to begin rolling blackouts.

A disruption of service will occur in approximately 15-30 minute intervals across strategic circuits in our substations beginning this morning. They will continue until [Power Company] is notified otherwise by TVA.

We have monitored the power grid seems to have a hard time keeping up right now during the cold weather. We've seen some sites go up and down - specifically mostly in the franklin county area. We will continue to monitor.

You can also unplug your equipment for 60 seconds and connect it to power again. Electronics do not like unstable power.....

Reminder: The Emergency Broadband Benefit program which was started by congress last year is ending and transitioning into a new program - the Affordable Connectivity Program. At this time it is our understanding you do not have to qualify for the new program - you will automatically transition to the new program. Those of you currently receiving a $50 subsidy towards your bill who qualified last year will continue to receive a $30 benefit starting in March. However, if you qualified for the program due to a substantial loss of income in 2019/2020, you may need to requalify.

Subscribers can still apply for the ACP program and, if they are approved, can add the subsidy to your account. The website for the new program is https://www.fcc.gov/acp. If you have further questions you may contact the ACP support team with the government at (877) 384-2575.

Thank you for choosing Cyber Broadband.

This investment in broadband affordability will help ensure we can afford the internet connections we need for work, school, health care and mo...
