SECURITY
Good evening,
Lately I've seen a lot of people being hacked. Instead of rewriting the book, i'm posting an article here that will help you understand 2FA(2 Factor Authentication).
First I'd like to give some basic tips that will help you keep your emails, facebook, and other online accounts safe.
1. NEVER USE THE SAME PASSWORD
Many people are guity of this, using the same password, or a very similar password, on all their accounts.
The reason this is extremely dangerous, is that if someone gets one of your passwords, on one account, they can then find your other accounts and access them all with no further work.
This is especially dangerous for emails, for instance, your gmail account is also your RECOVERY account for other sites and emails... the hacker gains access to your gmail, and they can then request password resets for every other account.
Even if you change the end of each password, for instance 'password123', 'password 334', etc... once they have the primary password they can easily brute force the others.
Many people use a password manager to get around this problem. You can find many free password managers online.
Others use different password for each site, and write them down.
2. USE TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION
Please read the article below, this will explain further.
Basically, you can require your email to send you an access code to your phone (for instance) to log in. There are other forms of 2FA, but most people are comfortable getting texts on their phone so this may be an easier method.
