Yesterday, I took my first full day off for 2026, unless you count a college visit, then it’s my second. I spent the day exploring a couple of state parks, going for hikes, experimenting with art, and finishing my book.

During my absence, I received more questions from my staff than usual. However, here’s the thing: the building is still standing, a web store was successfully closed and items ordered, another web store was set up, print orders were completed, screens were all cleaned and prepared, and offices were all cleaned.

From this experience, I learned I have an amazing team and a day off once in a while is ok. All the questions I was asked, they knew the answers, they just lacked the confidence to execute. I know I can never completely escape work, it’s always on my mind, but I’m grateful for the time away.

For those curious about the image, the background features one of the trails from yesterday. The rest of the image is my experimental artwork from yesterday in various stages, progressing from left to right. The reason I began with blue paint instead of black is that I hadn’t painted in years and didn’t have any black paint in my kit. Stay tuned; I’ve purchased some black paint, and I’ll be experimenting again soon.

Today we decided to check the storage room to see what kind of crazy stuff the ghosts of employees past have left for us. Some items are restricted from sale without printing, while others can be utilized for projects. Then there are the random items that we’re unsure about, so we’ll be offering them to the public. Here’s what we’ve found so far:

- Cinch bags in various colors: $1 each
- Fleece headbands in purple, navy, or royal: $1 each
- Black mesh shorts with pockets (small-2XL): $5 each, or 5 for $20
