Bombers Drag Privateers Into The Muck

By making it a grind out, ugly game, Long Beach held Nassau to only 97 points. Coupled with a key 8-0 late run (6 by Marquise Moore), they shocked the visiting Privateers with a 100-97 victory.

Nassau Draws Level In The East

Despite a rough shooting day for McQ, Nassau overpowered a Muresan-less Carolina 114-105 to draw even with Tampa bay in the Eastern Division. 8 of 9 Privateers scored 10+ points in a total team effort. Jordan Williams a beast in defeat with 28 points, 19 rebounds and 3 blocks. 23 for Vinnie Del Negro off the bench.

Dragons Use Late Surge to Win

Up only 5 at the start of the 4th, The Dragons saw their lead disappear entirely when Long Beach knotted it up at 96-96 with 7 minutes to go. The Dragons then went on a 12-0 run to secure the game for good, winning 116-104. Lorenzo Bonam led the way with 30 points and Jemerrio Jones owned the glass with 23 rebounds. It was Bruno Barovero, with 21 points on 9 shots that really did the damage. June Mar Fajardo was huge with 28 points and 13 rebounds, but even that and 24 from Marquise Moore couldn't beat the Dragons.

Nassau Battles the Frozen North

With both CJ Leslie and McQ struggling, Nassau had to look for new heroes to stave off a serious challenge from Marshall Henderson and Calgary. Henderson bombed away for 22 points, the game's high scorer. He was bested by Aziz N'Diyae who dominated the paint for 21 points and 17 rebounds. More impressive was his 4 blocks, 3 of which game in the game's last 6 minutes as he literally repelled every Calgary effort to level the score. Mark Jackson also key with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.

Brooks-less Shamans Dragged Back To The Pack By Sea Wolves

Without De'Mon brooks, Nuuk turned to Arvydas Sabonis and Alex Francis for points. Francis responded, Sabonis less so. Vancouver took control of the game in the second half with a huge 40 point third quarter. Woodson, Phills and Wang all scored 20 points, Jamie Skeen added 19 and Billy Knight tossed in 18 as even scoring spelled a 119-103 loss for the Shamans.

Against an improved Calgary team the post-Sabonis Marauders were in a low-scoring grinder of a game for three quarters. Relying on defense and the foul-drawing of Zach Thomas Montreal had forged a ten point lead after three. Only the bomb-away partial success of Marshall Henderson had kept Calgary afloat. Enter Kyle Wiltjer who hit back-to-back-to-back threes to extend the lead to 19. He would score 26 and grab 10 rebounds acting as the spark that led Montreal to a 99-81 victory. Reggie Lynch impressive with 12 points and 16 rebounds in the loss. Marshall Henderson scored 21.

Disjointed in Defeat
They got their Wang back, but the team wasn't ready to play with him again. Jamie Skeen had one of his worst games ever and Vancouver shot just 37% in a 108-90 loss at Montreal. Wang did have 25 points and 10 rebounds, but Kyle Wiltjer had 26 points back at him.

Define Short-Handed...

In Tampa Bay without CJ Leslie? That could be short-handed. Nassau headed in to the Shark Tank to beat the 8-1 Tiburons and started hot. 30 points gave them a lead after 1, but Tampa stormed back, winning the second quarter 38-24. A gritty, focused Nassau team emerged in the third. Behind McQ, they rallied to close the gap to 92-88 after 3 quarters. The fourth was a showcase of Nassau offense and Tampa Bay resolve. Every time Quinn McDowell pushed the lead ahead, Tampa closed the gap. When Cameron Young tied the game at 111, the other Privateers rose to the moment. Jamel Hagins hit and and 1, Lewis Lloyd drove past Hassan Martin and Mark Jackson nailed a three to force a 118-111 lead that would last. Final score Nassau 124, Tampa Bay 119 as McQ goes for 43 in the Shark Tank.
