Mainly they prey on older folks who are just too trusting when it comes to their computers and emails and who they're talking to. Its time for PAYBACK! If you think your data is secure in the Microsoft Cloud, … think again. This article goes deep into what is not being stated by Microsoft about its security of data in transit which leaves a lot of unanswered security questions by the Federal Govt. One of the things this article reiterates is that after being exposed, Microsoft stopped using Chinese based contractors for support of its U.S. Dept of Defense cloud servers. It still uses Chinese based contractors for support of other Govt and private servers.

One Microsoft product was approved despite years of concerns about its security.

SCAM ALERT!

Do you have small business in the State of Indiana? BEWARE of SCAM's like this. Every two years you have to file a Business Entity Report with the State of Indiana thru their INBiz website. However, these SCAMMERs will send you emails like this a few months ahead of your time to file your Business Entity Report. It looks official and even has a link to to a website that pulls up your Publicly available information (Thanks but NO THANKS to the IN.gov) from the State website. The link takes you to a website named:

https://indianabusinessfilings.com/in-businessentityreport.php?...

When you click on this link, it will pull up your Indiana Business Entity which further makes it appear to be "Official".

That's right the government provides your information to SCAMMERS! The State charges you $32 to file your Indiana Business Report online, but this site will charge you an extra $100.

Check the INBiz website yourself to find out and update your business info at https://inbiz.in.gov/BOS/PublicSearch/Search

Delete these emails and/or contact the Secretary of State directly to verify your information.

I couldn’t state this more clearly nor more seriously. Everyday you get dozens of emails, many of them are from retail stores, businesses, and service organizations that you’ve either signed up for or visited their website or purchased something from. Just like the junk mail in your postal mailbox, what do you do with them? You either ignore them or you trash them, because they’re just Junk Mail. Then you open the bills, the birthday cards, and what actually looks important. What’s the difference between the mailbox on your porch or out in front of your house and the email mailbox that you’re accessing on your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone? The difference is documents in your mailbox is just paper with information on it and the email you’re accessing online is an OPEN door into your home or business for criminals to take easy advantage of. Your email is a living breathing web page that downloads content from the internet, manipulates your mind and directs you to all the services that runs your livelihood. Are you considering a NAS device at home or your small business to store and organize all your pictures and video, back up your computers and possibly use it as a small network server? There are a couple really good products on the market for these functions. We use these NAS products from UGreen and Synology. Both perform really well and provide options for huge amounts of data. For typical home use I recommend the UGreen NAS DXP2800 available with a great Black Friday deal at Amazon: https://amzn.to/48AmVvd The UGreen NAS allows you to use most over the counter drives, where Synology has gone to only allowing its own authorized drives which can be more costly. The UGreen DXP2800 can handle up to 76TB of data storage. I typically recommend using Seagate Ironwolf pro drives or for a slightly less expensive drive go with Toshiba N300 NAS drives, the bigger the drive storage the better. A 20TB Toshiba https://amzn.to/44rvk1F drive is going to cost you about $390 whereas a 20TB Ironwolf Pro https://amzn.to/48Awydi costs $420. For redundancy, I also recommend configuring 2 of these as a Mirror (RAID 1), where one drive is a duplicate of the other.

What can you do with these NAS devices? Backup, Storage, create your own Cloud Backup, a Media server, a Docker Server, and much more. I use the UGreen NAS to backup all the photos and video from our families phones, using an app called PhotoSync Pro, which can be shared with family members or you can use the UGreen App to do it. The UGreen NAS has a variety of Apps that can be downloaded and uses Docker for other 3rd party apps.

The Synology DS225+ https://amzn.to/43LN2Ne or DS725+ https://amzn.to/4oVfQv2 are more suited for small business rather than home use. They are a bit more expensive and require you to use their authorized drives, but they have a much more robust set of built-in applications for backup and other applications, like databases, web servers, media servers and they can act as an Active Directory network server, which is great for small businesses needing network login security.
