Nearly all of us are turning the corner towards fall and we’ve also turned to some classics, mostly jazz but not exclusively. Too early? Nah! Vince Guaraldi Trio’s 𝘼 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙚 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨…it works all year round really. 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙑𝙤𝙡. 𝙄𝙄, Bird & Diz. Ask us about our Dizzy story sometime!! Hank Mobley accompanied by some greats, 𝙉𝙤 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙨. The clear oddball here, Soft Cell’s 𝙏𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚/𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙚 12” single. The bookend, Oscar Peterson Trio with Milt Jackson, 𝙑𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙡. Enjoy!! Vince Guaraldi Charlie Parker Oscar Peterson

Modular Max is the most recent addition to the Franc Audio Accessories’ offerings. It continues the concepts of its predecessor, Modular, which allows one to add shelves either vertically, horizontally or both depending on need. In other words, Modular Max is a future proof purchase. The new Modular Max receives trickle down technologies from Wood Block - the carbon fiber option being one of them. The newer industrial design gives Modular Max a more contemporary appeal too.

It’s been a while. And not that we haven’t been enjoying music, we have. We decided to let things settle, cook, come together, incubate if you will.

For this week an odd combination. The Fishmans’ 𝙆𝙪𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙪 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 is voyage both unusual and refreshing. Bert Jansch’s self titled record from 1965 didn’t get the spotlight like other folk artists but this record influenced many after its release. Earlier this week John Coltrane celebrated what would have been his 100th birthday. Here with Johnny Hartman also self titled seems right for a Friday morning. Jesse Welles’ star is rising, his unique voice and knack for clever lyrics is on display with 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙄𝙄𝙄 (𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 2025 - 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚 2025). Last, Del the Funky Homosapien with 𝙄 𝙒𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙈𝙮 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙨 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚. Enjoy!!

Just using the Ultra Carbon TC-40 record weight and breaking in a new cartridge—more on that later—while playing a cool laser-etched record. Can you name it?

A few tasty images from the latest review of the SME audio UK Model 8 by StereoNET.

“The SME Model 8 is an accomplished high-end turntable package that succeeds through refinement rather than spectacle. Its build quality is outstanding, and the bundled 309 tonearm is a huge plus sonically and in terms of ease of set-up and use.“
