Greenlight Tek LLC had already embraced a Zero Trust approach with ThreatLocker, Inc, but email remained one of the last areas where security still relied heavily on users correctly recognizing threats.

That's a hard gap to close in healthcare. Carmi Gross runs security for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, detox centers, and hospitals across South Florida, where staff are trying to deliver care, not evaluate whether a perfectly written phishing email is real. And with AI making those emails better by the day, asking people to spot the fake every single time isn't a strategy.

So Gross extended that same zero trust principle to the one place it was still missing... the inbox.

What happened next is a fake QuickBooks email Shield caught before anyone clicked, a six-figure wire fraud attempt, and a HIPAA workflow that now runs without anyone lifting a finger.

Are DMARC reports actually useful, or are they just noise?

Yes, they’re useful. They expose forgotten systems sending email as the domain.

DMARC reports show which systems are sending mail on behalf of a domain and whether authentication aligns. That often surfaces things like old invoicing tools, ERPs, scanners, or legacy apps that were never documented.

They can also reveal spoofing attempts pretending to be the domain.

The point isn’t chasing one-off failures. It’s spotting patterns so you know what needs to be fixed before tightening policies.

If you want a simple overview of DMARC reporting, we have some potentially helpful resources for you here: https://hubs.la/Q04jPdjN0

Your client went to medical school to save lives. Little did he know he would be spending his mornings hunting phishing emails.

His patients will have to wait. He's got a phish to catch.

Don't worry, he's trained for it, even though studies show phishing training doesn't work. (that's besides the point)

If only he had color-coded security insights that update in real time as you work, so you're always in the know. That would be nice

Yesterday, we got into phishing sims. Today, we're talking about why you're getting ignored.

Our VP of Marketing, Kate Schlarf, is speaking at RejectionCon today at 1 PM ET. Her session makes the case that the problem isn't your offer. Catch her live and find out what is.

All proceeds go to the Rural Technology Fund.

Some sessions are just too spicy for the normie conferences. Not RejectionCon.

Our CTO, Ben Hathaway, is kicking off Day 2 by showing how it only took 38 words to build a phishing email targeting Mailprotector CEO David Setzer.

He'll make the case that tricking employees and shaming them when they fall for phishing simulations is a broken security model. AI made the math impossible to ignore.

"Carpe diem." Jason Samples signs off most meetings this way.

Growing up in a military family, always moving, he had a wrestling coach who took him under his wing and showed him what it looked like to lead. He still calls him to this day.

Investing in others is the whole point of RejectionCon. It's something we believe in too.

So when Wes Spencer from Empath approached us about sponsorship, we didn't hesitate. Every ticket sold goes directly to the Rural Technology Fund, putting real technology in the hands of kids who might not get another shot. Last year, that was 10,000 students. This year will be even more.

We're a proud premier sponsor.

RejectionCon starts today, and it's more important than you think.

All proceeds go to the Rural Technology Fund. Last year, that meant over 10,000 kids in rural communities getting access to technology and tech education. This year, even more.

We have two Mailprotector voices on the schedule this week. Ben Hathaway, our CTO, is speaking on Wednesday at 1pm ET, making the case against phishing simulations and why that model no longer holds up. Kate Schlarf, our VP of Marketing, is up Thursday at 1pm to talk about why AI has made MSP marketing painfully predictable and how to actually stand out.

Two sessions, two very different topics, and that's the point. Talks you won't hear anywhere else. Register --> https://hubs.la/Q04hVy4q0

"Our job is to make sure healthcare staff can focus on taking care of their patients."

Carmi Gross at Greenlight Tek LLC gets the problem. Healthcare staff can't be thinking about security decisions. Every extra step is attention pulled away from patients.

"The more we can protect them without them having to think about it, the better."

Email Traffic Control replaces ongoing rule maintenance with intelligent workflows that automatically act on message content. Its built-in data detectors recognize sensitive content without staff having to flag it. For Carmi's medical clients, PHI compliance runs on its own with no intervention required.

And they're just getting started. Public health law compliance is next on the list.

"We've barely scratched the surface and it's already delivering real value."

How do you explain DNS-related email issues to clients when you don’t control their DNS?

This usually comes up when email breaks after a “simple” DNS change.

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC all live in DNS. If those records aren’t right, legitimate email can fail, land in spam, or disappear entirely.

That’s true even if nothing changed on the mail server itself.

A lot of MSPs explain it this way: DNS isn’t just a website setting. It also plays a part in email authentication. Changing DNS without understanding SPF, DKIM, and DMARC can break email just as easily as changing a security rule.
