Port City BRAWL 2026 this Saturday April 4th, 2026 Update:

We don't cancel events.
We do not cut prize support down for any reason.

This is an all day event. Doors open at 9:00AM and close at Midnight.

This all day event features one main event and as many prize supported side events as we cram in 14 hours in a nice, spacious and clean convention center with a fully stocked bar would take an act of god to cancel. All our events are pre paid for, prize support is secured and stowed away long before promotions and sign ups begin. So if you are or were on the fence of on if this even happens or not, I can assure you it will.

Whether its 8 players or 128 players, we brawl. This is about building a yearly event here in the south that is focused on the vibe, the community, playing as much magic as possible and still offering top shelf prize support all with charity in mind in keeping with the spirit and the roots of what the Premodern community has been built upon.

Event Details:

This is an All Day Event featuring fully prized side events.
Entry with Main Event Ticket is $100
Doors Open at 9:00AM with in person registration
Main Event will fire between 10:00AM and 10:30AM once all deck submissions are turned in.
REL event with a Judge on hand. Gold Border Friendly, no proxies.

Charity Raffle for Nourish NC:

We have donated a lot of high dollar singles, playmats and packs for our charity raffle. Sierra Rush and the Rush family were kind enough to donate some hand signed artist proofs as well as some sweet premodern artist proofs for our raffle. The raffle will benefit Nourish NC Foodbank local to Wilmington, NC. We will be matching every dollar taken in for the raffle. Some pics of some of the raffle items.

FREE Side events ALL DAY - 14 hours of Magic will begin to fire around 1:00PM for everyone who has paid for the main event and will continue all day until midnight.
Each side event is 8 players, 3 rounds, winner takes all.
Prize support is a random single from a pool ranging in value from $50 to $250.

Tom Fleming will be the guest Magic artist hanging out to sign and doodle. He will even have some amazing prints and originals for sale all day. So come have a beer and meet our local legend.

PREMODERN DRAFTS - Invasion/Apocalyspe/Judgement Draft events are an additional $100 per player with prize support paid out in packs from these sets as 3-2-2-1
Three planned drafts for the day which will begin around 2:30PM for the first event.

We brawl all day no matter what.

We will be live streaming several of the matches through out the day as well.

Registration is still open and will be until day of.

Just a week away!

Come check the south's premiere Premodern event this April 4th 2026 here in Wilmington, NC at the Aloft Convention Center
This is a Swiss Round Event of Premodern with several Premodern draft side events!

Port City BRAWL is a premium single day event presented by Wilmington Premodern Crew and hosted by Trade Binder. The event consists of a single one day Main Event Premodern Tournament with a 128 player cap, three Premodern Draft events and several free pop up events throughout the day.

The main tournament will be conducted with Swiss style rounds with a cut to top 8. Top 8 will be live streamed and recorded as well as various matches throughout the day. Participants must sign a waiver of release for this event.

Port City BRAWL is a gold border friendly event, however there are no proxies allowed in any of the prize supported events.

TREL with two official judges who will be on hand through the entire event.

Premodern is a community-created constructed format consisting of the sets from Fourth Edition to Scourge. The card pool thus roughly spans the period in between the formats 93/94 and Modern. For more detail on Rules, Legal Sets, and the Ban List, please visit Premodern Magic.

In addition to the Main Event, there will be three Premodern Draft Events with prize support. Each of the Draft Events will be $100 per player and limited to 8 seats and will be conducted in three rounds. Prizing will be 3-2-2-1

As apart of the entry, each main event ticket purchase comes with one free ticket for our charity raffle.

The charity raffle items include some real spicy premodern items including sealed premodern products, playmats, singles, posters and other prizes.

Additional tickets for the raffle can be purchased for $10 per ticket or 6 tickets for $50. These can be purchases online or in person at the event. Each online ticket purchase will represent a physical ticket placed in the raffle to be drawn through out the day.

Each main event and draft entry will receive a stamped Premodern basic land.

There will be random free 8 player, 3 round pop-up side events throughout the day where winner takes all.

In the tournament space, there will be areas for free play, trading, and just general socializing as well as a restaurant and bar. Come join us for a day filled with glory, good company, and plenty of Premodern Magic: The Gathering!
