After four years at UNC and two years as Sports Director for Bear News and Executive Producer of Bear Zone, my time here has come to a close. I'd just like to take a minute to say thank you. Thank you to my staff, our crew, my news director, Dale Edwards, my incredible co-anchor Rachel Turnock, the UNC Sports Information Office, the coaches, staff, and athletes who make up the best college athletics program in the country, and most importantly, our viewers. We wouldn't have been able to make the sports department what it was without each and every one of you, so for that, thank you. Rachel will be taking over as your sports director for next year, I look forward to seeing what other great advances this incredible department can make. So for one last time, thank you very much and as always, go Bears!

Congrats, D'Shara!!

Strange, a junior from Fort Carson, Colo., broke the Northern Colorado career record for steals just 68 games into her career, doing so at Northern Arizona on Thursday. She now has 215 after four on the week, bettering the previous mark of 213 by Courtney Stoermer (2007-11). Strange also had a double-double in the first half against NAU on Thursday with 12 points and 10 rebounds. She ended that game with 21 points and 14 boards as well as 11-for-12 from the free throw line. In the win at Sacramento State, Strange had 13 points and nine rebounds and didn’t turn the ball over in the second half.

For the week, she averaged 17.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting .875 from the free throw line (14-of-16).

Both the UNC men's and women's basketball teams delivered Christmas a little early this year... the men beat North Dakota 75-66 and the women downed UND at home 53-41.

Northern Colorado shot the ball well and cut down on turnovers in its 99-61 win over UC-Colorado Springs inside Butler-Hancock on Monday night.

Bears fans! Your men's basketball team cruised past UCCS 99-61 in last night's final tuneup. Paul Garnica was the leading scorer with 18 points. Tonight is an off night for UNC sports, but tomorrow night, the volleyball team takes on Eastern Washington at Butler-Hancock at 7pm!
