I've been working on all things design today for a few different pages and organizations and it got me thinking about all of the work that goes into these things.
You may spend 2 hours trying to get the right spacing, and you may stare at words until they no longer look like they're spelled correctly..but it's so worth it when you see it all come together.
I know a big reason folks say they don't use human made ads is because of the cost (something we can all relate to), but my advice would be to never let that deter you from reaching out to an artist or even a student.
A few other folks have expressed to me that they'd be very happy to trade services, which is something that I personally LOVE to do.
I once drew on a sandwich board for a sandwich for Nook & Cranny Coffeehouse, I've done some murals and am currently working on murals Hair by Chanel Prince and in return she absolutely slays my hair. I’ve traded redesigning/painting the awning at Violet’s by Dianne for the cutest clothes and gifts for friends and family. I have traded artwork for desserts, yard work, photography, food, and services/products from other small business owners.
When I talk about community and helping each other, I mean truly coming together to support each other. We may not always have the cash, but if we foster relationships with each other we can be rich in friendship. (yes it's corny, but I'm right off the cob, baby)
If you have the means to pay an artist for their work, you absolutely should. It is after all a lot of artists' livelihoods. However, almost every artist I know is willing to donate their time and work to help out or even a simple trade.
Never let pricing deter you from reaching out. When I say to support artists, I don't mean just me, I mean all of the very talented artists in our area.
You may find one that is able to fit your vision and your budget with a little searching. If for some reason I am unable to help you I have dozens if not hundreds of artsy friends that would love to help!
ANYWAY
Here is a random collection of some things I've worked on recently.
Ok, love you, bye!
