Brisket has been with us for over a year now. He’s a sweetheart and an absolute blast to be around. Our team is determined to end his unnecessarily long wait for a forever family, but we need your help by sharing Brisket far and wide.

Brisket is the best of all things dog. His adventurous side shows he’s a great running/jogging partner who loves to hike, wade in the water, and would be a great dog to take on the boat for summer fun!
And while Brisket knows how to dish out a good time, he also knows how to bring a real good snuggle to the table. He’s a cuddling connoisseur, and deserves to have his own humans to show off these amazing snuggle skills!
Brisket is smart, and knows his basic commands with great potential to learn more. He’s smart and easily trainable.

Briskets adoption fee is waived. He attended last months adoption events, and will be attending our adoption events on 6/17! This IS his time to shine!

Dirigo Wireless, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Wireless Communications Installer. The successful job candidate
would be responsible for installing, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting of a wide variety of Public Safety
and Commercial Vehicles. We are looking for a motivated and energetic person to work with our team.
$ 18-$ 24 an hour. Salary based on experience.
Position: Full Time

Job responsibilities:
- Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Two-Way radios and a variety of other equipment in vehicles
including police vehicles, fire department apparatus, public works vehicles, cars and trucks.
-Installation, termination and testing of coaxial cable and DC power cables.
- Operation of test equipment such as service monitors, watt meters, and digital voltmeters, etc.
- Complete service orders, customer, and system specific documentation.
- Must complete vender specific certifications as needed (this may require some travel).
Desired Qualifications: (will consider training the right candidate)
- 3+ years’ experience in two-way radio and wireless communications installation and maintenance preferred but
not required. Will train the right person.
- Good mechanical skills and working knowledge of using both powered and non-powered hand tools.
- Working knowledge of a variety of test equipment
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to work with a variety of application including but not limited to
equipment programming software, QuickBooks, Google Apps, MS Word, and Excel.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Security clearance may be required
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in small spaces
- Must be able to climb ladders, work on elevated heights
- Must be able to work both inside and outside in both cold and poor weather.
- Must be able to travel out of state on a very limited basis.
- Some overnight travel may be required
- Strong customer service skills required

Fun facts

Have you ever wondered how police department’s communicated with dispatch before they had 2-way radios?

In Portland, their solution to this was the use of call boxes, which were installed in various locations all across the city. These were the police department’s primary means of communication from the 1880’s through 1932 and they were even still being used in moderation into the 1970’s.

The city had 51 call boxes at one point but these days only 2 remain. One is on the corner at the intersection of Spring Street and Emery Street and the other one (which formerly stood at Morrill’s Corner) is now located in the Portland Police Department lobby.
