What is the USA doing about communication? Our position as a nation is knowing it’s about security, resilience, and trust.
Lawsuits over router security, the rapid expansion of satellite networks, intensifying competition between carriers, and Senate scrutiny over data access all point to the same reality: telecom is critical infrastructure.
• States are challenging the security and origin of network equipment, signaling tighter oversight of what gets deployed in U.S. networks.
• Satellite-to-device connectivity is accelerating, redefining rural coverage, disaster response, and what the “last mile” really means.
• Regulators continue approving thousands of new satellites — turning orbit into the next competitive battlefield.
• Carriers are raising growth expectations while competing more aggressively across broadband and wireless.
• Privacy, data control, and network ownership are back in the national spotlight.
• A major nationwide outage reminded everyone how quickly daily life stops when connectivity fails.
The takeaway:
Telecom is no longer judged only by performance. It’s judged by reliability, supply-chain confidence, physical network durability, and the ability to protect the data moving across it.
That’s where infrastructure materials matter.
At Granite Falls Composites, we focus on the part of the network most people never see — the materials inside fiber optic cable that help enable consistent deployment, protect cable integrity, and support long-term network performance.
When networks are built with proven, domestically produced materials, providers can reduce deployment risk, improve reliability in harsh environments, and strengthen confidence in the physical layer of the information highway.
Because easing deployment challenges and protecting critical connectivity isn’t just an engineering goal — it’s a trust requirement.
We’ve moved past the era where telecom is “nice to have.”
The question now is simple:
Are we building networks for convenience — or building them for mission-critical resilience?
