They advanced a petition without completing basic checks. The emails say so. Take a look:

-Matt Mills, County Attorney: “Stephanie agrees the signatures are insufficient after further review.”

-Stephanie Cooper, Elections Administrator: “Neither party… have come to me requesting that I verify the signatures… Once requested, I will verify the signatures submitted to me.”

-J. Allen Quine, Assistant County Attorney: “I’m ready to recommend to the Judge to sign the Order, as are Matt and Stephanie.” (sent minutes after the court flagged “other objections.”)

Mills: “Now there’s arguably an issue with the size and other matters, but we don’t have the time and resources to really investigate all that at the last minute.”

Petition leader Danny Lakey says the area is “unlivable” because of MARA. His own Airbnb’s reviews say it’s “peaceful living.” Here are the facts:

-Danny Lakey markets the Airbnb on his property as “peaceful living,” with a 4.93 “Guest favourite” rating.

-Multiple guest reviews highlight quiet, peaceful stays at that address.

-Maci Lakey, his daughter: “I have absolute certainty that my parents are exaggerating their story to maximize their potential payout.”

The county’s study found our operations below legal sound limits.

The Mitchell Bend incorporation isn't about noise. It's about bureaucratic power. County officials fast tracked a defective petition and encouraged citations and lawsuits to go after a law abiding employer. Read the emails now:

There are quite a few assumptions made about water usage in bitcoin mining. Here's the actual data.

Bitcoin mining uses far less water than conventional data centers or gold mining. MARA’s operations highlight this efficiency, with its largest site using less water annually than an the average American family.

Whew! 2025 Lemonade Day was a hot one! Perfect for delicious lemonade. The creativity and hard work of all the students was remarkable. A huge shout out to all the family members and friends who supported their student. Lots of emergency ice deliveries were witnessed. Enjoy the photos. MARA Granbury Data Center loves being a sponsor for Lemonade Day 2025🍋 You'll see Lemonade Stands all over Granbury on Saturday from 10am-2pm. For now, the rain is suppose to hold off until after 3pm. Plenty of time to be an official taste tester. Some of our MARA family's kiddos will be participating too! Please support our 5th grade GISD students as the learn the lessons of being an entrepreneur. We are so proud of you all. Lots of hard work.

Congratulations to Ally McCabe! It was a pleasure to award this Granbury High School Senior her scholarship in partnership with the Granbury Optimist Club. Heading into college, Ally's focus will be finance. It was a scorcher at Grump's, but worth the heat to attend the Jr. Optimist Club banquet. Did you know they completed over 67 service projects this year? Visits to Waterview, reading to elementary students, volunteering at the food pantry, providing shoes for children in need and much more. It is indeed an optimistic future with these young men and women leading the way.
