JFYI: We invite everyone to discuss our v26.2 proposal: AI Chat to manage Application Model and other aspects at runtime (as an alternative to the traditional developer-centric Model Editor). https://supportcenter.devexpress.com/ticket/details/t1206756/xaf-application-model-model-editor-and-non-windows-development-support-macos-linux-with -4942-4d01-8850-3bf5a80aa397 - Your feedback is welcome in comments.

A gentle reminder in case you missed the AI Integration Module (CTP) in the Template Kit:

https://docs.devexpress.com/eXpressAppFramework/405898/ai-module/ai-module-overview

What are your favorite AI extensions? Mine are "Prompt to Expression" and "Prompt to Report" - they generate filter criteria and full reports from natural language (a relief since these are tedious technical tasks to do by hand).

And before you ask: AI Chat control integration for both and module versions is coming next, in the final release (around v26.2).

XAF v26.1 ships with 13 AI agent skills for Claude Code, GitHub Copilot (Visual Studio, VS Code, JetBrains Rider), and Cursor. Based on DevExpress documentation and XAF best practices, these skills help AI assistants generate accurate code across key framework areas, including Business Model Design, Controllers & Actions, Security, and more. Dedicated EF Core and XPO skills cover ORM-specific usage scenarios.

You can install skills from the DevExpress AI Agent Skills repository as a plugin (GitHub Copilot CLI or Claude Code): https://github.com/DevExpress/agent-skills/tree/main/plugins/dx-xaf
NOTE: These AI Skills automatically register the DevExpress MCP Server: https://docs.devexpress.com/GeneralInformation/405551/

In DevExpress v26.1, a Detail View for a new scheduler/calendar appointment now respects the option and opens a full-sized form as a separate tab. Previously, a narrow popup form opened.

Popup Detail Views are now wider and no longer override the default layout caption positions. For example, we display layout item captions to the left of the associated editors (DxFormLayout.CaptionPosition = Horizontal in v26.1 instead of Vertical in previous versions).

Both changes are done for general usability and consistency - XAF developers and end users will have a more predictable behavior across screens and less heuristics.
