🔄 Quality in = quality out.

With LLMs increasingly training on AI-generated content, we run the risk of creating a feedback loop that makes models less reliable.

It raises a bigger question––not just about how AI learns, but how we do.

If businesses and individuals rely too heavily on AI without grounding it in real-world insight, we risk dulling our own thinking.

The takeaway:
✅ Use AI as a tool, not a crutch.
✅ Ground your prompts in real-world, human-created input
✅ Balance automation with critical thought.
✅ Stay grounded in firsthand experience.

Smart input leads to smart output on both sides of the screen.

⚠️ When it comes to using AI to develop business strategy, you need to think critically about the approach.

Not every question/prompt/task is something that an LLM can provide detailed, accurate, up-to-date explanations for. (At least not yet).

Here's an example:
📩 On our podcast last week, we tried to use ChatGPT's Deep Research to strategize better subject lines for my email marketing campaigns. We were hoping for an analysis of our latest subject lines and some input on how to improve our approach moving forward.

👎🏼 What we got back was dated, generic advice about subject line best-practices.

We realized that topics like email subject line trends change on a weekly–sometimes daily–basis. If ChatGPT is pulling its info from web sources, it's almost impossible to get up-to-date information back.

A better use of ChatGPT:
➡️ Identify the subject lines trends through your own research.
➡️ Then, use ChatGPT to develop iterations for A/B testing.

⌚️ Still saves time.
🔧 Still leverages the tool.
💡But instead of stretching the Deep Research beyond its limits, you're using the LLM for something it's better suited for.

It's true that a good prompt can make or break your results with an LLM.

❓But at this point in AI development, it's also crucial to ask:
What is the best use of an LLM for my current business goals?

🤔 Why do your campaigns lose traction?

🚫 Too much bandwagoning, not enough experimenting.

When everyone's using the same subject line, running the same ad assets, etc., audiences will start to want something new.

This is also why AI can only help you so much when it comes to optimizing your campaigns.

AI can only iterate off of what it already has. It can tell you the best time to send an email, the best color for your CTA buttons, or the best day of the week to publish an ad campaign, based on existing data.

And these can be helpful insights. But it's up to YOU to experiment with what HASN'T been done before. 🧪🔬🧫

After inputting your company's URL into NotebookLM, you'll have a few options. NotebookLM works with the content on your site to understand your core service offerings, industry, brand voice, and more. With this, you can:

⁉️ Generate FAQs – while this won't be a ready-to-publish list of FAQs, it's a great way to identify what questions your website visitors might have. It can also help you identify knowledge gaps in your website content to strategize new web pages, knowledge base articles, and blog topics.

🔆 Improve brand identity – generate an info brief or audio overview. The podcasting feature provides an in-depth discussion on your website and brand.

A beta feature even lets you join the audio–having a conversation with two "hosts" with the ability to ask questions about their interpretations of your brand.

If the information you get back from NotebookLM does NOT match your own understanding of your brand, this is valuable information that can help you pinpoint areas where your website may not represent your business to the full extent that you want it to.

📃Upload PDFs - use an AI tool that can read and interpret PDFs to get quick summaries on PDFs. This makes it much easier to navigate business documents such as briefs, pitches, and proposals. Prompt your AI tool of choice with questions on a document, and get back pertinent insights without having to sift through the PDF for information.

For HubSpot users: Breeze copilot just added a PDF feature (currently in beta), which means you can get instant insights on any PDFs uploaded into your HubSpot ecosystem.

⭐Feedback Summaries - The days of tedious feedback questionnaires are over. If you want honest and relevant customer feedback, you need to include free response forms on feedback surveys that make it easier for customers to share their experience with your brand.

Previously, the challenge with this approach was the time-consuming process of sorting though responses. Now, a number of AI tools can interpret and summarize feedback from your customer surveys, identifying trends in customer feedback.

HubSpot users: I recommend opting into the new Feedback AI summaries beta, which allows you to filter feedback based on object properties.

🗂️Organize your inbox - there are a growing number of AI assistants made to help prioritize emails, summarize long threads, draft followups, and more. Gmail's built-in AI assistant offers a variety of useful features. You can also try tools like SaneBox to bring some calm to your inbox.
