Turn any phone charger into twelve volts.

A tiny dongle of one USB plug, three resistors, a zener, and an LED tricks a Quick Charge wall charger into switching from 5V to 9–12V on its data pins — enough to run a 12V LED strip straight from a phone charger. No boost converter, just resistors fooling the charger.

This circuit is inside every charger you own.

Four diodes in a diamond plus one smoothing capacitor — a bridge rectifier. It takes AC from a transformer and turns it into smooth DC your circuits can actually use. Every phone charger does exactly this.

One wrong wire kills your board.

Reverse polarity hits in a millisecond — a reversed battery lead or a center-negative barrel jack can fry a regulator, a module, a whole project. The fix costs about ten cents: a Schottky diode on the positive rail, a diode-plus-fuse crowbar, or keyed connectors so it can't happen.
