Happy October! Happy Spooky Month -- and happy birthday month to me!

I had fun producing this piece for the flyer for the upcoming Halloween-themed Drag Bingo at Drink Me! Tea Room in Tempe, produced by Drag Story Hour Arizona and hosted by Felicia "Fefe" Minor.

As a self-taught designer and creative strategist, I continue to assist LGBTQ+ and ally organizations and creatives in building event promotions and marketing to help amplify the experience and bring people to the venue.

POV: Layer by Layer of the next Rising Star flyer for Cycle 12.

Again, just want to share that the flyers I design are not AI-generated.
Human made and I am careful that any stock photos, graphics are not AI-generated as well.

I also encourage folks to help keep the arts alive by supporting and employing working artists whenever they can.

It has been great designing flyers for the Rising Star cycles. I should put together compliation of all the flyers that I have created for the franchise presented by Mia Inez Adams on Tuesday nights at Stacy’s in Phoenix.

A time was to be had at the space-themed drag bingo event at Drink Me! Tea Room in Tempe on Thurs., Aug. 27.

Designing flyers for upcoming events and experiences, including my own, give attendees a glimpse what they are signing up. It's more than just a throw it together flyer or template. It's definitely not artificial intelligence. Again, from concept to ex*****on, the goal is always the same: create an experience before guests even arrive.

Being a part of the event is special to me also because it is a Drag Story Hour- Arizona produced event. Drag Story Hour and many chapters around the country are promoting early literacy through diverse and inclusive stories.

I am honored to have led the creative direction and design of DJ Image's announcement of Alyssa Edwards as the headliner of the Pride Extravaganza on Saturday, October 10.

When I design for an event, I think about how it should feel before anyone arrives. The goal is for the audience to understand the experience the moment they see the visuals.

I’ve been doing this work for more than 20 years, creating design and branding for events, performers, and creative productions.

That approach has guided my work with Mia Inez Adams and the Rising Star Talent Competition, which continues to grow and is now in its 11th cycle.

The next cycle begins Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 8 p.m.

Rising Star is a 10-week, zero-elimination talent competition for performers across different genres. It gives artists space to develop their skills, receive feedback, and build consistency over time. It functions as both a performance platform and a structured development program.

Each design decision supports that purpose. The visuals are meant to clearly communicate what the experience is, who it is for, and what participants can expect.

It is not only a talent show. It is a space for artists to refine their work in real time.

This is another throwback from last year that I haven't shared yet.

It was great to produce a few of these flyers for Drag Fantasy Live's Lights! Camera! Drag!! Events like this one, which took place at The Pemberton in Phoenix, were produced by DJ Image.

As a self-taught designer and creative strategist, I continue to assist LGBTQ+ creatives build business identities that grow with them and amplify their voices and their messaging.

POV: Beginning layers of the PrideFest flyer.

First, I want to let you know that I am not AI and I am the human generating the designs. I got a message asking if these were AI-generated. Nope.

Full transparency: I have noticed that some images in the Adobe Stock library appear to be AI-generated. However, I primarily use my own work and stock imagery that is not AI-generated, as I deeply respect the creative process and the value of original artistry. I personally prefer working with original artwork and find collaborating with artists and photographers far more meaningful and creatively rewarding. I also encourage clients to help keep the arts alive by supporting and employing working creatives whenever possible.

In some cases, I may use AI-generated images provided by clients if they align with the overall design, creative direction, and goals of the project.

I designed the flyers for the PrideFest event series, presented and produced by DJ Image. Throughout June, PrideFest AZ will host multiple Pride Month events across Arizona. I posted the Flagstaff design and the Phoenix design is the next in the series for print and social media.
