Leslie Moore with HonorHealth Desert Mission, shares how two veterans, one with aphasia and one in early-stage dementia, met at an adult day program. They bonded over military memories and formed a lasting friendship that continued even when they weren’t together. Their partners also became friends, showing how one connection can bring people together in unexpected ways.

In combat, the cost of winning is often measured with lives lost. In caregiving, that measure is more like days, or perhaps even hours lost — Their's and ours.
