Here's a shot of a Tascam BR-20 we recently finished, sitting pretty in its' system at the customer's home!

This machine needed some rejuvenation to get back in good order. No big cosmetic customizations on this unit, just some good old TLC! It calibrated really well and had solid mechanics. This unit will probably go on to play tape for quite a long time.

Posting some images of another system from one of our customers!

They recently ordered several of our customized Technics pieces that we refinished in silver with black accents. It's so cool that these went to the same house! We wanted them to stay together when we made them and our wish came true.

The RS-1520 is a dynamite machine as always, and the accompanying tuner, amp, preamp and peak meter unit are just so cool together. They make awesome additions to this system!

Memorial Day marks the start of summer, but it remains a day for us to remember the people who volunteered to defend our way of life. Without their sacrifice, we would not be able to enjoy our lives the way we do.

Another day and another 1500 in need of help. This one has some interesting issues, including side panel screws that were so rusty that it took an impact to remove them, which is pretty crazy. Definitely a first as far as rust is concerned.

The frame shows some signs of corrosion but it's straight so that is a huge plus. As usual with these Technics decks, some of the caps have fuzzy green legs. One of the boards just automatically needs a total recap with the state of the caps on it, and the play/record section might end up needing the same thing. The heads are also quite worn from being shown plenty of love, so those could use replacing as well.

Pretty rough deck but definitely not too far gone to save. It will sound and run great after everything is done.

Recently, Jeff has been working on this Akai 747 dbx and it turned out to be a pretty sweet unit. The record level calibrations have taken some time to fuss with, and playback was off by 5dB before anything was fixed or changed. It has tuned up very nicely and will record and play a pretty good tape now.

Like most machines, it required some recapping and some brake work, along with a ton of cleaning. The tension guides were one of the more challenging bits to work out, and kept causing function issues. They still need some more attention but it will come around for sure.

The VU meters on these ones are a little different, with the needle coming from the top. Cool to see something different!

In the spirit of trying new things, we decided to customize this Studer A-810 and dress it up with some beautiful piano black paint and fresh, super sharp lettering. Happy to say that this deck turned out quite nicely and makes quite a statement.

The front panel on this machine has so many bits and holes that it was a real challenge to get everything just right. The process was painstaking but well worth the results. All of the original colored buttons and function points really pop when set against the black, and the matching rack mount ears are a nice little touch.

Originally it was intended to be a one-off, but there was more interest than we anticipated so we are totally up for doing another one if you would like it! Reach out with a direct message here or send us an email if you would like more info.

Working on putting together another RS-1520. Calibrating the record and playback EQs to be the same has been a little tricky on this one. Typically we can get it within 1dB of each other, even less if the machine is a sweetheart, but this one has just been fighting the whole way through. It should come around the more Jeff twists on it.

A matching 2 piece RS-9900 cassette player might be joining this 1520 too. We have done those in red and silver before, but having it match this would be pretty cool.
