My algorithm keeps telling me AI can be my social media manager, and honestly… I have questions.

Is it coming to the shoot? Helping you get comfortable on camera? Noticing that the thing you casually mentioned would make a really good video?

I’m not all the way anti AI…(minus those horrible flyers🤢) But helping a business figure out what they want to say, bringing out their personality, and turning that into content takes more than a prompt.

Use the tools. Just don’t confuse having access to them with having creative direction.

Editing it. Watching it 14 times. Sending it to the client. Watching it again because damn, I did that. 😂

There’s something about seeing an idea turn into a finished video. The shots, the timing, the music, the little details that pull it all together.

A lot of what I do now started with, “I think I could do that.”

Then came saying yes, figuring it out, putting in the work + trusting my creative eye a little more each time.

Building a business and a life you love occasionally requires a dramatic sigh, a “what the actual fk,” and a little walk outside. This past week was a testament to that! 😮‍💨

But we have to keep going! We fix the problem, send the email, shoot the content, and keep our heads up!

I can be overwhelmed and still be capable. Just give me my 7 minutes. 😂

If you’re investing in a brand shoot, it should be doing a lot more for your business than filling your camera roll. For Colour Line, we created photo + video with a bigger plan behind it. Girl to girl: make it easy for people to consume your content.

A lot of people are watching with the sound off, half-distracted, in public, at work, next to their kids… wherever. 😂

If you’re talking to camera, captions aren’t just a nice little extra. They help people follow along, stay longer + actually understand what you’re saying.

Don’t get lazy with captions in your stories either. They matter even more there because that’s often where the sale happens.

Make good content, yes. But also make it easy to watch. 🤝
