AI image generators have gotten shockingly realistic. While scammers use synthetic photos and videos to manipulate and trick people online, learning to spot the subtle clues of AI generation is one of the best ways to protect yourself.

When you hear "phishing," you probably think of a suspicious email. But fraudsters have moved beyond your inbox.

Scams can show up anywhere you communicate:
📩 Emails
📅 Calendar invitations
📱 Text messages (aka smishing)
📞 Phone calls
💬 Direct messages on social media
📲 Scannable QR codes(aka quishing)

Treat unexpected requests across all platforms with equal caution. If a message asks for personal information, login credentials, or quick payment, pause and verify the source directly.

Modern scammers use professional templates, AI tools, and official branding to make fraudulent messages look legitimate.

Look for red flags. 🕵️‍♂️

🚩 Inspect the actual sender email address

🚩 Wording that plays on your emotions

🚩 Links that don't go to the official site of the service referenced
