From Embedded Software Engineer to Emerging Rock Stardom

Twelve years ago, Marco Mottolini left Patton's Swiss operation to follow his passion for music.

Today, his band, Dirty Sound Magnet, is touring the United States and making waves worldwide.

Recently, Patton CRO Burton Patton had the opportunity to reconnect with Marco and reflect on an interesting truth: whether you're developing software or writing music, success is built on creativity, technical skill, perseverance, and passion.

Great careers can take unexpected paths, and we're proud to see former members of the Patton family making their mark on the world.

Patton today announced its Tone Commander® 4101, 7810, and new 7910 IP Phones have achieved Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification as voice-only Assured Services Session Initiation Protocol (AS-SIP) End Instruments (AEIs)—meeting Department of Defense Unified Capabilities Requirements (UCR) for joint use.

“Patton is helping agencies reduce risk and move forward with confidence" - Burton A. Patton, Chief Revenue Officer, Patton, LLC

The certification was awarded on June 11, 2026, positioning Patton and its customers favorably as the DoW transitions from the legacy JITC and DoDIN Approved Products List (APL) framework to DISA's Risk Management Executive (RME) Vendor STIG program.

The certification includes the newly introduced TC7910 platform and related models, validating interoperability with major DoD Unified Capabilities (UCR) infrastructures and confirming compliance with critical cybersecurity and security configuration requirements.

Tone Commander® 4000 and 7000 Series SIP end instruments achieve Joint Interoperability Certification before the DoW transition from the centralized DoDIN APL program, providing government customers with a validated path forward for secure enterprise voice deployments.
