Is this overkill? Probably. Am I stopping? No.
(Quick note before the comments fill up: yes, those antennas are mounted indoors. Intentionally. Not every install allows outdoor placement, and honestly, I just wanted to see how far I could push it inside. This is my version of fun.)
Some locations just have terrible cell service. You know the ones. One bar, maybe. Pray for two.
I started with essentially zero signal inside the equipment closet and about 1-2 Mbps on my phone outside it. That's not a network. That's a suggestion.
First move: Peplink 82G. Four bars. 30-60 Mbps. Solid. Most people stop here.
I did not stop here.
Swapped in a pair of Maritime 40Gs and watched it climb to 150 Mbps. On cellular. From a closet that had nothing.
My goal is gigabit. I'm not there yet. But the antenna farm growing out of the wall is starting to look pretty serious.
Sometimes the best part of this job is turning a connectivity nightmare into a problem you're genuinely excited to keep solving.
Anyone else guilty of chasing the number long past "good enough?"
